The D14RM is the latest Durabook model from the US based Gamma Tech; it has a fourteen inch screen and has been specifically designed to cater for the needs of people whose jobs take them outside into situations where the average laptop would fear to go.

The trouble with tough laptops is weight, but the Durabook weighs in at 6.7 pounds, whiles its closest rival the Panasonic Toughbook 52, weighs in at a hefty 7.5 pounds.

Panasonic intros “Lets Note” laptop

The Lets Note laptop from Panasonic features a circular touch pad, which is probably one of the main things that you notice straight away, and then the rest falls into place. It is based on the Intel core 2 solo offering 1.4 GHz. However, one of the more important features is the claim by Panasonic that it is shock proof, to what extent is not yet known. You get the usual Wi-Fi connectivity, while the battery is said to be good for nine hours.
