It looks like ASUS is working on the high-end Eee PC versions, currently dubbed, “ASUS S101″.

I really like this concept as I feel that ASUS Eee PCs weren’t going to satisfy my high-power requirements for mobile computing.

According to CNET Crave Taiwan and HKEPC, Asus is preparing a high-end version of Eee PC that features 64GB SSD. The new laptop will named as the S101 and the Eee PC brand will be dropped to reflect the higher price tag of $899 USD.

Rumor say that ASUS is building an ASUS Eee Linux Box.  Basically, it looks almost like a Wii or something but don’t expect any gaming consoles, it’s still just a computer that looks stylish.

    As per our previous speculation, an official launch of the Eee Box will indeed take place on June 3rd at Computex in Taiwan. Hardly surprising given the show is in Taiwan, the home of Asus and many a computing manufacturer. Specs wise, our source told us the machines would be launching with 2GB RAM as standard, along with a 160GB hard drive

Once WiMAX rolls around the U.S. with Sprint, we will be seeing bunch of these UMPCs replacing PDAs and whatnot.  At least, these will replace many of traveler’s laptops.

SEOUL, Korea (AVING) — <Visual News> WIBRAIN(www.wibrain.co.kr) rolled out the SSD version of its 4.8-inch UMPC ‘B1′ in Korea market.

Suggested price is 399,000(KRW) for 8GB SSD, 549,000(KRW) for 16GB SSD, and 649,000(KRW) for 32GB SDD model.
