It is rumoured that Sony are planning to jump onto the Chrome OS bandwagon and that there is even a prototype device in the pipeline, of course we have heard all this before and we should be asking is there any value in the Chrome OS at all anyway! The netbook could offer the user a 11.6 inch LCD display with a 1366 × 768 of pixel resolution, powered by the Nvidia Tegra 2 (250) platform, graphics from the Ultra-low power GeForce GPU and it is supposed to weigh around 2.2 lb, which is very light indeed. Sharp starts battery recall

Overheating laptop batteries is something that user has become accustomed too, but occasionally the issue can become so serious that the manufacturer has to do something about it! In this case, it looks like Sharp are latest in a long line for computer makers to issue a recall on a battery packs. It seems like the issue is affecting Sony made batteries, which are prone to short circuit and therefore can overheat. According to company spokesman, Hiroshi Takenami, “We decided to recall the batteries to ensure safety for our customers,” It seems that there are around twenty eight thousand battery packs due to be recalled, we are assuming that the consumers will be contacted directly as the firm has not issued the model number affected by this problem. The new Raon Digital Everun Notebook comes with a touchscreen and lots of “small” functionalities for the power user at the current predicted retail price of $879 USD. It looks pretty small to me and I do like that couple with a 7″ 1024×600 pixels, which provide you with plenty room to scroll. Of course, the price doesn’t justify the features provided in my opinion but there’s enough power in this small 7-inch beast. (I do like the Windows XP, no more Vista on any of my new comps.) This balance of leading-edge power, battery life and miniaturisation doesn’t come cheap but in the world of pro-mo devices, this is really on-the-mark. The recommended sales price is $879 (US, before tax.) which means its way, way cheaper than the other high-performance UMPCs, the Sony UX and the Q1 Ultra Premium and it includes a 16mm pitch keyboard and easy 3G upgrade path.
