Sony installs USB 3.0 ports in the Vaio

The spread of USB 3.0 is on the move with the latest manufacturer Sony installing the superfast connections into the Vaio HD laptops, but as Intel seem to be dragging their heels on this one, it seems that Sony could be calling upon either NEC or Renesas to power the units. The Sony Vaio HD laptops are a desktop replacement on the expensive side, but then again it is to be expected from Sony, but $3,000 is a massive price to pay during the current climate. Sony Vaio W ready for pre-order at Amazon

Amazon is doing well today, but the pre-order pages on its site are very interesting. Amazon UK is offering all three colours for pre-order (white, brown and pink) for £430 but there is no estimated release date is given, although Sony expects the Vaio W in the stores by the middle of August. The Vaio W is also available for pre-order in the US through Amazon.com for $499.99, but only in the brown and pink colour. It is just typical that Sony decided to show off the wonderful Vaio W in an event in Milan, Italy! After all what has Milan got apart from style, design, warm Italian sunshine and okay I get the point. This computer is more style driven than performance although the performance is also up there in specs too.
