UPDATE: ASUS UL30Jt now available on Amazon! For those of you who have been for the next big ASUS 13.3″ Ultra Thin and Light laptop, look no further as we have just spotted the UL30Jt at CES 2010, featuring an Intel Core i7 CPU and 1GB Nvidia GeForce 310M graphics card, this is certainly a whopping improvement over its predecessor, the UL30Vt-X1, which I am actually using to blog this post from CES. The ASUS rep said this isn’t the final but a similar laptop should be available in 4-8 weeks. The full feature specs of this awesome 13.3-inch laptop include an Intel Core i7 – 640UM/620UM processor, Intel GS45 chipset, DDR3 1066Mhz memory expandable upto 4GB, 640GB hard drive. There’s no final word on what kind of battery the final production version will have but the demo model has a 5400mAh 8-cell battery. via zedomax a 13.3" Laptops, asus, ASUS Laptops, ces 2010, hands on, Laptop News, Laptop Reviews, Laptop Rumors, Laptops by Size, review, ul30jt
a

ASUS U20 (or UL20) 12.1″ laptop is one of the most versatile laptops you can get for the money. Currently the U20 comes with an array of options such as a long battery life of 7.5 hours, 1.3GHz Intel SU7300 Core 2 Duo Processor, and 2GB or 4GB of memory depending on which model you get. On Amazon, there’s two models ASUS U20A-A1($569.99) and ASUS U20A-B2($969.03). The basic difference in price range comes down to hard disk space and memory size. The UL20A-A1 comes with 2GB of memory and 250GB of harddisk space while the UL20A-B2 comes with 4GB of memory and 320GB of harddisk. For what it’s worth I would rather get the UL20A-A1 and add additional memory plus external hard drive if needed. It seems like a much better value for your money. Of course, if you are willing to spare a bit bigger screen, you might want to go with the ASUS UL30 series, which comes with an 8-cell battery with 12-16 hours of battery life. As a current owner of an ASUS Eee PC, I can tell you these ASUS laptops are well worth it for the money and the long-life of its batteries over others … Continue reading →
a

UPDATE: The better ASUS UL30Vt is here w/ Nvidia graphic card and 8GB max memory limit, get it for $799! If you are looking to get a new ASUS UL30A, you might want to learn that there’s 2 different models, one with a 4,400 mA battery and the other, with 5,400 mA battery. These two batteries are identical, both 8-cell batteries but the 5,400 mA battery is rated for 16 hours while the other is at 12 hours. If you look carefully on Amazon’s site, you will find that ASUS UL30A-A2 specifically has this description: Powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo ultra-low voltage processor, it boasts an impressive 16-hour battery life for all-day computing. While the ASUS UL30A-X5 has this: Powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo ultra-low voltage processor, it boasts an impressive 12.5-hour battery life for all-day computing. So we know it’s a typo-error on Amazon’s part and we have confirmed that one of the ASUS units are indeed rated for 16 hours, thus higher pricing. If you are going to purchase it at retail stores, make sure to get the 16-hour battery life for this laptop otherwise, you might do better buying it online. Btw, this … Continue reading →
a

I like this video because it shows some of the downsides, like the speakers.
