As you would expect from Asus this is a cheap alternative for anyone wanting to enter the marketplace but without having to fork out too much cash at one time. On the face of it, this is an update of the 1000H, which is fine. What is not fine is the fact that it only has a two cell battery.

eMachines have always been the low-cost alternative. But now with netbooks flooding the market, eMachines needs to step up its game. So, the company is releasing a full sized laptop for less than $400. Is the eMD620 woth it? Let’s see.

As a Best Buy exclusive, this notebook is subpar. An Athlon 2650e with 1.6 GHz won’t get you very far in the office of on the net and the low 1 GB of RAM will surely lead to slowdown within a year.

Plus, the little thing us pretty ugly, sports low battery life and only has two USB ports.

My favorite laptop magazine, LaptopMag.com has a great hands-on review of Windows 7 on a Laptop:

While our operating system is described as a pre-beta, everything seems very solid. We used the system for hours without a crash or a blue screen of death in sight. We didn’t install many apps, but those we did—Adobe Reader, Firefox, CamStudio, and GIMP—all ran flawlessly. If this is the pre-beta, we can’t wait to see the beta.

Dell Mini Inspiron Leaked!

Update: You can pick up a Dell Mini at Dell.com now.

Looks like guys over at Gizmodo ran into Michael Dell and here’s a first and close-up look at the Dell Mini Inspiron that Dell’s working on.

Although the operating system used on it is unknown, it’s my guess that Dell put a Windows XP or Vista.  My hopes are for an XP but knowing Dell, I think they will probably try to stick a Vista in there.

One Important Reason Why I will never buy HP Laptops again…

The reason?

They only provide Windows Vista or Vista 64-bit.  Vista is a horrible operating system that is slow and does not work with most of my PC peripherals.
