From the outside, the Apple MacBook Pro is not going to look much different and for many users that will be a bit of a relief as sometimes design changes just for the sake of it often end up back firing and Apple cannot afford to slip up with the new Apple MacBook Pro. It seems that the specs were seen on the side of a box, and this is what the new Apple MacBook Pro will have to offer, a 13.33 inch glossy display with 1280 x 800 pixel resolution, it will be powered by the Intel Core i5 two cores at 2.3 GHz 3 MB cache, while the graphics come courtesy of the Intel Graphics GPU HD 3000 with 384MB of RAM shared with main memory and finally there is the high definition camera with the FaceTime feature.
The biggest news today came from HP, as the company released information about the first consumer-targeted multi-touch tablet notebook, the TouchSmart TX2. (Catch our coverage here.) cNet dug through the dirt and found a great video from N-Trig, which partnered with HP to produce the new notebook: And just as I got to bitching about the excess of netbooks out there with the release of a Epson netbook in Japan, AMD is making me one happy Laptop Pimp. The processor giant said today that it will be focusing production on notebooks, kissing off the netbook market. AMD is going to let the slumming fall into Intel’s hands alone. They won’t compete in the low-price, low-spec market. And speaking of pimping, Dailymotion has teamed up with One Laptop Per Child to launch a contest to promote the cause of bringing notebooks to everyone. Learn more with this video: Check back tomorrow, when we will look at more new laptops and some great new accessories. Until then, Pimp out! a dailymotion, Laptop News, laptops, netbook, notebooks, roundup, tablet notebook
a

Best of the Net: Alexander Wolf wonders why anyone wants a new laptop: [U]nless you covet a new MacBook, you’re not crossing your fingers in hopes of finding a shiny new notebook computer under the tree. Smartphones, netbooks, and digital SLRs, definitely. But laptops? Yawn! Dan Costa wonders if Netbooks are the new notebooks: But can the netbook replace the notebook? Here at PC Magazine, we learn by doing, so I hit the road with netbook in tow. cNet names Sony’s 18″ laptop it’s home movie favorite: [I]magine our pleasant surprise to find the Vaio AW125 to be less expensive than the other 18-inch, Blu-ray equipped laptops we’ve seen. John Morris looks at Best Buy’s newest marketing ploy: According to Best Buy customers are looking for a decent-size display in a thin and lightweight laptop, a backlit keyboard and a standard two-year warranty. Otherwise, it’s a pretty slow day out there in notebook world. Send me your news tips and hacks if you have them.
