NEC Launch the Lifetouch Note

The Mobile Web Congress 2011 in Barcelona Spain, has seen some interesting launches and one of those comes from the Japan based firm NEC, they have launched the Lifetouch Note. This netbook comes with a seven inch LED back lit resistive touchscreen with 800 × 480 pixel resolution, powered by the NVIDIA Tegra 250 mobile processor and will be running Goole’s Android 2.2 operating system. The Lifetouch Note weighs just 699 grams which is the around the same as the Apple iPad. There will be three different models the first one comes with Wi-Fi, 3G and 8GB of internal memory, then there is a Wi-Fi only model, and finally a model with Wi-Fi and 4GB of internal memory These are features and specs for the NEC Lifetouch Note netbook; It comes with a 7 inch LED backlit resistive touchscreen (800 × 480), GPS, accelerometer, SD and SDHC card slots and a 2MP webcam. NEC launches four new laptops

Never to be out done by anyone, NEC have been quietly working away in their design studios on some new laptops, and now that they feel these machines are ready, they have launched the LaVie L, LaVie S, LaVie M and last but definitely not least the LaVie Light. These are the details for the LaVie L, LaVie S, LaVie M and LaVie Light laptops; LaVie L comes with Intel’s latest series of Core CPU including the I7-2620M, Core i5-2410M or Intel’s entry level Celeron P4600 CPU. The LaVie L is available with a 3D Screen, Wireless Digital TV Tuner, Intel’s Wi-Fi, USB 3.0 SDXC Support and USB 3.0. LaVie S 15.6” Notebook with a choice of an Intel Core i5-480M, Corei3-380M or Pentium P6200. NEC shows off a 7 inch mini-laptop

This is neat little device, that has a full keyboard but no track pad or mouse buttons. It does have a seven inch WVGA resistive LCD touch display and is powered by the NVIDIA Tegra 2 platform. This version is seen running the Android 2.2 aka Froyo operating system. Other features include an SD card slot, micro USB port, built in webcam, built-in Wi-Fi and it weighs in at only 600 grams, there is a good video on YouTube that gives a bit of a tour. The NEC mini laptop is an interesting portable device, but until we have details on cost etc, we are going to have to wait for the final judgement. These two new mini laptops from NEC are quite strange looking, with a deep square cut body that makes it look a bit bulky, but of course, that is just cosmetic and has no effect on the actual computer itself. The specs are a little thin on the ground at the moment. A short while ago the Japanese electronics manufacturer NEC were bringing some smart equipment, this included the NEC LaVie Light, this mini laptop would have been coming to the market very soon and there are probably a lot of people looking forward to that.
