The UK nearly always gets everything after everyone else, and the Asus Eee PC 1008HA is no exception, which is why we are all celebrating that this laptop is going to be on sale in the UK very soon. This is one of the thinnest and lightest mini laptops on the market today and is even comparable to the MacBook.
The CeBIT 2009 has been a great success for some manufacturers while other like Asus appeared not to make use of their time there, for some reason this happens sometimes. However, Panasonic used this time to official launch show off the new ToughBook CF W8, this time it is strong but light if that that makes any sense at all.
This is a strange time to venture into the mini laptop market, especially due to the current economic conditions around the world, but you have to suppose that this machine was in the pipeline for a long before and the timing is just a matter of course. The notebook that was originally codenamed Neutrino has been designed to cater for the needs of people who use this type of equipment on a daily basis, it is not just for surfing, this is a communications device.
Finally, it has come an Asus Eee PC complete Wi-Fi connectivity; this is the one that many Asus fans have been waiting for. Nevertheless, how good is it? Feature wise it has everything that you would expect from an Asus and a little bit more, it has gone on sale in the home territory of Taiwan, but how long we will have to wait is not known, although there is word that they could be appearing in Europe soon.
As you would expect from Asus this is a cheap alternative for anyone wanting to enter the marketplace but without having to fork out too much cash at one time. On the face of it, this is an update of the 1000H, which is fine. What is not fine is the fact that it only has a two cell battery.
HP are proud of the mini 700 netbook machine, they are a 10.2 inch screened laptop that has an Intel 1.6 GHz Atom CPU with integrated GMA950 graphics processor and sports a 1 Gb of RAM which is a fair size for a mini laptop.
