Download latest version of Flash to view video!. Click Here to View in Full Screen Mode Here’s a video of China’s HiVision $98 Linux Mini-laptop equipped with a MIPS processor, 1GB flash drive, and some more basic features. I do like this small Linux system as it’s versatile for doing a lot for less. Of course, having a Google Chrome Browser on these mini-laptops would be extra special. HiVision makes the worlds cheapest Linux laptop at $98 using a new cheaper MIPS based processor (perhaps the Longsoon or the Ingenic), WiFi, 1GB flash storage, it runs Linux, has 3 USB ports, Ethernet, SDHC card reader, audio in and out, voice-chat, skype, multi-tabbed Firefox browser support and Abiword for word processing. Automatic and secure online software updates. Their current model is running a smooth and pretty snappy Linux user interface. In this video, I got to borrow a review sample of the laptop overnight, and I try to show you all the browser and other software interfaces in this extended video review of this cheap MIPS based laptop. Embedded is the way that I hope that most cheap laptops are going to be based on in the near future, Google will … Continue reading →
a

Update: You can pick up a Dell Mini at Dell.com now. Looks like guys over at Gizmodo ran into Michael Dell and here’s a first and close-up look at the Dell Mini Inspiron that Dell’s working on. Although the operating system used on it is unknown, it’s my guess that Dell put a Windows XP or Vista. My hopes are for an XP but knowing Dell, I think they will probably try to stick a Vista in there. Let’s cross our fingers and hope it’s a Windows XP. Again, Dell wouldn’t put a Linux system unless they have changed their core philosophies… via gizmodo a core philosophies, Dell Laptops, fingers, guess, linux, linux system, michael dell, operating system, windows xp
a
