It is easy to think that this bit like the Thinkpad X100e, in looks maybe but the inside there is a completely new ball game going on. First of all the new ThinkPad X120e will come with these new features; AMD Fusion chipset, HDMI output, 65% faster graphics and not forgetting the 30% better battery life, but yes it still has a slight resemblance to the Lenovo Thinkpad X100e. These are the features for the new Lenovo Thinkpad X120e; AMD Fusion E-240 or E350 chip, an 11.6 inch 1366 x 768 pixel anti glare LED display, with the AMD Radeon HD 6310 graphics stereo 2W speakers, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and optional 3G.
The 12.5 inch display places this laptop right in the middle ground between netbooks and laptops, so it is bound to be able to pick up business from those consumers who are unable to make their minds up on which side of the fence they should be on. Lenovo have gone for a slightly different approach on this design with two colours to choose from and a design where the edges of the base and lid extend out further than the actual computers body. These features and the screen size all add up the produce an interesting laptop design. Here are the available specs and features for the latest Lenovo IdeaPad U260 12.5 inch laptop; 12.5-inch display and 0.71-inch thick chassis. Intel Core i3 or Core i5 processors, along with 4GB of RAM, a 320GB hard-drive and Wi-Fi b/g/n, VGA and HDMI, audio in/out and Ethernet.
This is Lenovo’s first venture into a very exciting market, the smartbook market, yes we need a category! But just to recap, a smartbook is a device that combines specs of a smartphone with that of a netbook. So this is the Lenovo Skylight, it is an ARM powered device, which makes it a smartphone, but it is comes in clam style casing and has features that you would expect to find in a netbook. It is an interesting concept, but will it catch on? At around $500 maybe not, but as part of a package then maybe. Specs – 1GHz processor, a 10.1-inch display (1,280 x 720), a customized version of Linux, 20GB (total) of flash storage, 2GB of cloud storage, an 8GB miniSD card, twin USB ports, 1.3 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, a battery capable of humming along for ten hours on a full charge, similar to the IdeaPad U1 Hybrid on the software front, comes in a clamshell design, weighs under two pounds, integrated AT&T WWAN module, 18 preloaded web gadgets like portals to Amazon MP3, Facebook, Gmail and YouTube and pricing is set at around $499.
