As the imminent launch of Apple latest idea prepares for launch, there are many whispers of discontent around the industry, first there is the name personally, and I fail to what is so funny about the name iPad! Then there are those that are saying it is only a larger iPhone, well as an owner of an iPhone that would sell it to me, especially at a price starting at $499 and rising to $829, this is more than just a big 1.5 pound iPhone or even a tablet. This thing like most Apple products are a way of life, the iPad demonstrates a lifestyle that many people would love to have, it’s an aspiration to have the iPad isn’t it or is it something else completely else? However, it fails to say anything of use to us, like the Dell Adamo it offers the world, but delivers nothing apart from the opportunity to receive more information as when it becomes available, that would be how it happens. Yet the word is that Sony are readying a new VAIO but what it is going to be is anyone’s guess as is the model number, most people think that these are just made up as they go along and they could be right too.
It is easy enough to get an extra display unit to work alongside your laptop, all you need do is feed it through the VGA or DVI output and you are away. However, it is nearly always going to be a lot higher than your laptop display, this makes it harder to view properly etc. Nevertheless, the electronic giant has come up with the answer, they have developed a range of lapfit displays, and these are designed to sit at the same level as the display of the laptop, making it easier to follow a line across the monitors. At the moment they will be coming in 19in (LD190G) and 22in (LD220G), no word on the prices yet. Source [Mobile Computing Mag] a dvi output, laptop, Laptop Accessories, Laptop Hardware, launch, monitors, samsung
a

The Macworld Expo, which opens in January, is expected to see the launch of the Apple mini Mac, something that we have been waiting to see for the long time. However, before we all start to get excited, this machine is not likely to compete in the same market as Assus and the other mini laptop makers. The word is that this is going to expensive and if they say that now then when it launched to price is definitely going to be high. Steve Jobs has already gone on record as saying they don’t know how to make a $500 laptop! Source [Information Week] [Gallery] a 10" Netbooks, Apple Laptops, apple mini mac, assus, information week, launch, Mac Rumors, MacBooks, macworld, macworld expo, steve jobs
a

Microsoft isn’t one of my favorite companies when it comes to operating systems but as for mouse, I think they make better mice than Logitech and all the other mice companies out there. Microsoft is working on their new “Any Surface” Mouse that could change the world mouse market forever. I too have always wanted something like this because even my IKEA desk needs a mousepad in order for my Microsoft basic mouse to work. Seriously, I tested it out on granite, carpet, wood, and Samuel L. Jackson’s bald head*, and it tracked impressively the whole time. The 2.4 GHz BlueTrack comes in two varieties: A $100 rechargeable full-sizer and a $80 mini that runs on AAs. via gizmodo Press Release: REDMOND, Wash. ─ Sept. 9, 2008 ─ Microsoft Corp. today unveiled the world’s most advanced tracking technology, Microsoft BlueTrack Technology, which allows consumers to take their mice anywhere and work with confidence on more surfaces than before. Microsoft’s new proprietary tracking technology combines the width and power of optical technology with the precision of laser tracking to allow consumers to mouse on virtually any surface1 — from a granite kitchen countertop to the living room carpet.
Rumor say that ASUS is building an ASUS Eee Linux Box. Basically, it looks almost like a Wii or something but don’t expect any gaming consoles, it’s still just a computer that looks stylish. As per our previous speculation, an official launch of the Eee Box will indeed take place on June 3rd at Computex in Taiwan. Hardly surprising given the show is in Taiwan, the home of Asus and many a computing manufacturer. Specs wise, our source told us the machines would be launching with 2GB RAM as standard, along with a 160GB hard drive – obviously not an SSD. These new machines will be running the same Linux distro found on the Eee PCs – no bad thing by our reckoning. It’ll be launching in the UK in Q3 and be available and be available in white, though no word was made as to the availability of the proposed black version. Finally, and somewhat disappointingly, our source couldn’t confirm whether these early systems would in fact be using the Centrino Atom platform adding: “I honestly don’t know at this point”. In any case, with other vendors beginning to announce Atom powered machines, the odds are overwhelmingly stacked in … Continue reading →
a
