Samsung launches three new laptops

When Samsung launched the Series 9 laptop who would have thought that this would be the beginning of a whole range of laptops. Well with the announcement of the three new laptops under the “Series”, title. The Series 2 laptop comes in both 12.5 inch and 14 inch sizes the difference being that the 12.5 inch with a Celeron processor and the 14 inch with a Core i3 CPU. Both machines will have 2GB to 4GB of RAM, and 320GB hard drives. The Series 4 laptop offer the same screen sizes, but they do come with higher end processors such as the Core i3 to Core i7, better RAM capacity up to 6 GB, and improved hard drive space up to 500 GB at 7,200rpm. Finally there is the Series 6 laptop, this will offer a larger screen from 14 inch to the 15.6 inch, powered by Core i3 to Core i7 Sandy Bridge CPUs, 4GB to 8GB of RAM, optional 128 GB to 256 GB SSDs and with a 1600 x 900 pixel resolution display and there is also the optional Nvidia dedicated graphics. Gigabyte are probably better known for making motherboards, but they have been knocking out some serious laptops recently. such as the P2532 comes with a 15.6 inch Full high definition LED back lit screen with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, it will be powered by the quad core 2nd generation Intel Core i7 processor and the graphics come via the NVIDIA GeForce GT550M with 2GB VRAM with Optimus technology. It was only last when we reported that Toshiba were the first laptop manufacturer to recall laptop running the latest Intel Sandy Bridge processors, well it seems that HP are now following suit by issuing a recall for laptops running the Intel 6 Series C200 “Cougar Point” chipset otherwise known as Sandy Bridge. HP stopped production of the laptops being built with new chips on 31st January, owners of new HP laptops are asked to open the Windows Device Manager to see if their computer is running the 6 Series C200 chipset, if it is there are a few options open to them. DIY Dell Mini 9 Tablet!

Check out this incredible Dell Mini 9 that someone hacked into a mini tablet! Brilliant! If you know a little bit about disassembling laptops and hardware, this might be a doable project for you. The base model is a Dell Vostro A90 (bluetooth, .3mp webcam, 1GB RAM, upgraded 16GB SSD). The touchscreen is the Hoda Technology solderless touchscreen kit. I started this project back in June, and it was 80% complete then. I took a break for a few months then finally started filling in the gaps in the frame with plastic epoxy. It took me another few weeks to come up with a way to mount the power switch and the covers for where the hinges were. It is fully complete and functional now, though I will probably go ahead and paint/primer the body filler and paint the powerswitch silver from its current green color. It seems that the growth in the coffee shop has followed the growth in laptop ownership, but now the two seem to be party company as consumers find that buying an expensive coffee is less important than it used to be. This means that the coffee shop is struggling and so those customers who buy a coffee and spend all day using the free Wi-Fi are not to be encouraged any more in some establishments. According to study carried out by the independent research firm Semico, shipments of so called netbooks are set to climb to a massive fifty nine million units by 2013.
