The thinner and lighter Archos 10s has appeared in the UK at only 0.86″ thick that is thin and it weighs in at only 2.2 pounds. First up there is the launch, this is closely followed by the specs and very nice they are too, finally the release date of which we do not know, yet! Intel to launch Atom N270 successor

The people over at Intel have been working the replacement for the Intel Atom N270 processor; initially it is being called the Atom N450. This new processor is going to belong to an integrated platform, which is to be known as the Pine Trail. The launch date is said to be around October this year where it will have a single core Atom N450 CPU that also comes with northbridge functions built in and will be paired with the new chipset, the NM10 “Tiger Point”. This chip is supposed to be lighter and more energy efficient to work with the new and much slimmer laptops that are coming to the market. MSI Wind Laptop coming soon with SuSE Linux or Windows XP

MSI is working on their new Wind laptop, which is supposed to compete with the Asus Eec PCs. The Wind will feature a 10-inch display with 1024×600 resolution, 1.3M web cam, 80GB harddrive, and of course a card reader/wifi. According to recent rumors, the MSI Wind will also come equipped either in Windows XP or SuSE Linux. The SuSE Linux version will be a little cheaper, we suggest you to buy that and install your Windows XP separately to save some money. (given that you have your Windows XP disks) Laptop Pimp’s Verdict The laptop specs look very good, especially with the choice of 80GB hard drive and the operating system. A lot of HP laptops come (forced) with a Windows Vista, an operating system no one wants anymore. Kudos to MSI for not becoming corrupt to Microsoft’s backhanded negotiations. We also do like the SuSE option for people who already have Microsoft Windows XP disks.
