Raon Digital in trouble

The maker of the Everun Note, Raon Digital is rumoured to be financial difficulties. Despite bring out the mini laptop that was powered by the dual core AMD Turion 64 x 2 cpu for $900! It seems that something has gone wrong somewhere along the line and has landed the company in the bankruptcy court according to pocketables.net.

Google OS for netbooks

This has been coming for some time now, Google have been creeping around the software sector for some time, with apps giving users the opportunity to use email, browser and now an operating system that has been designed for netbooks. The way that Google see it is that most netbooks are using Windows XP; this has been around for eight years or so and has been designed to work with Pentium III and IV processors. Whereas today’s netbooks are using x86 and ARM chips, Chrome OS has been designed to work with these.

The F88 from Shenzhen Zaiben

The F88 is an interesting mini laptop from the Chinese maker Shenzhen Zaiben Technology Co Ltd, what makes it interesting is the 1.6 GHz VIA Nano CPU and a VX855 chipset. Apart from the VIA S3 Chrome 9 Graphics Card the rest of the specs are pretty standard for a 10.1 inch mini laptop.

Sony launches the VAIO W

This is the Sony version of netbook, although in Sony’s eyes this word apparently does not exist. Instead, this device is the “Internet Book” could this be new generic name for mini laptops? The chip maker Nvidia has confirmed that they will be bringing out their own brand of netbook later on in the year that will be powered by the new Tegra chip, which will also be used in the Zune HD. HP launching the Mini 5101

The HP Mini 5101 is the replacement model of the HP Mini 2140; the 5101 will be launched towards the end of July. There appears to be some restyling from the HP 2133 Mini Note of which there are some comparisons to be made and it comes with 95% full size keyboard.
