One of my favorite laptop magazines, LaptopMag.com, has a great hands-on review of the new Lenovo IdeaPad S10. Now, we have been banging our readers about how hot the Lenovo IdeaPad can get and other ramblings but here’s a good review from the laptop specialists: It seems like there’s a new netbook being released every other week, usually with the same basic specs: a 9- or 10-inch screen, an Intel Atom Processor running at 1.6 GHz, a three- or six-cell battery, and either a modest 5,400-rpm hard drive or a low-performance stick of solid state storage. Lenovo’s 10.2-inch IdeaPad S10 offers few unique riffs on this common melody, but its stylish looks and small footprint will win some converts. Lenovo IdeaPad S10 gets Too Hot!

Remember our Lenovo IdeaPad S10 review? Well, it seems like there was a missing fact, that this laptop gets way too hot near 100 degrees fahrenheit. I personally own 2 HP laptops that has overheating problems over regular use. If this heat isn’t fixed, I am not sure if a Lenovo IdeaPad S10 will last that long. For now, I say hold onto your money for something else. The keyboard itself gets pretty warm, with temperatures measured between 38 and 42°C (100.4 and 107.6°F). That slightly edges out tests performed on the Eee PC 900 (101°F / 38°C), and leaves your Cloudbook (83°F / 28°C) as cool as a cucumber. The new Raon Digital Everun Notebook comes with a touchscreen and lots of “small” functionalities for the power user at the current predicted retail price of $879 USD. It looks pretty small to me and I do like that couple with a 7″ 1024×600 pixels, which provide you with plenty room to scroll. Of course, the price doesn’t justify the features provided in my opinion but there’s enough power in this small 7-inch beast. (I do like the Windows XP, no more Vista on any of my new comps.) This balance of leading-edge power, battery life and miniaturisation doesn’t come cheap but in the world of pro-mo devices, this is really on-the-mark. The recommended sales price is $879 (US, before tax.) which means its way, way cheaper than the other high-performance UMPCs, the Sony UX and the Q1 Ultra Premium and it includes a 16mm pitch keyboard and easy 3G upgrade path. Wow, check out this foldable laptop that is on sale at eBay. It’s a Xentex Dual 13.3″ screen laptop, which is a prototype and one and only of its kind. I purchased this a few years back as a project but it just ended up sitting in my closet. This is a rare Xentex Dual Screen Laptop. Each screen is 13.3″ and one pivots so that one can be facing you and the other one facing the person sitting on the other side of the laptop. This was a prototype and is missing some parts but does turn on so I have no doubt someone can make this work with the right skills. This has to be the worlds largest laptop when unfolded which measures about 19.5″ across when you unfold it. It’s a great thing we never get to see or buy practically any Samsung laptops in the U.S. but most of their new technology does get fit into Dells, HPS, and you name it so… this is a good news for all laptops. When will we get them? Samsung reckons it will soon have the problems of manufacturing large AMOLED screens licked. What you see above is the beautiful result, which we believe is a real prototype, not a mock-up. The 12.1″ screen is a hybrid of OLED and TFT, and in the picture appears to be a little bigger than that keyboard. We’re not sure exactly what’s going on around the back, either.
