However, resting your head on the keyboard is not too comfortable and it is no good going to a meeting with keys indented into your forehead. Nevertheless, thankfully this has been thought out by designer Hafsteinn Juliusson from Reykjavik in Iceland. Yet this device is actually an add on, even though the keyboard looks as if the keyboard is built in. Source [Geeky Gadgets] [Gallery] a apple, Apple Laptops, decent solution, gadgets, iphone, keyboard, Laptop News, matt brady, third party
a

By the way, this Mac Book is prank thought up by the Onion, which is cool! Source [Waleg] [Gallery] a Apple Laptops, computer operations, imagination, keyboard, mac book, Mac Rumors, MacBooks, new mac, onion, wheel
a

One of my favorite laptop magazines, LaptopMag.com, has a great hands-on review of the new Lenovo IdeaPad S10. Now, we have been banging our readers about how hot the Lenovo IdeaPad can get and other ramblings but here’s a good review from the laptop specialists: It seems like there’s a new netbook being released every other week, usually with the same basic specs: a 9- or 10-inch screen, an Intel Atom Processor running at 1.6 GHz, a three- or six-cell battery, and either a modest 5,400-rpm hard drive or a low-performance stick of solid state storage. Lenovo’s 10.2-inch IdeaPad S10 offers few unique riffs on this common melody, but its stylish looks and small footprint will win some converts. However, its smaller keyboard and hot temperatures may drive others away. I think it’s safe to say that Lenovo IdeaPad is really a bad buy if temperatures get too hot. With all that hot temperature, Lenovo IdeaPad is going to have lots of problems such as CPU failure, harddrive failure, and lots more. Heat is number one enemy for laptops and in this case, Lenovo IdeaPad FAILS. via laptopmag a 10.2" Netbooks, atom, Bad Laptops, cell battery, converts, cpu failure, hard … Continue reading →
a

Remember our Lenovo IdeaPad S10 review? Well, it seems like there was a missing fact, that this laptop gets way too hot near 100 degrees fahrenheit. I personally own 2 HP laptops that has overheating problems over regular use. If this heat isn’t fixed, I am not sure if a Lenovo IdeaPad S10 will last that long. For now, I say hold onto your money for something else. The keyboard itself gets pretty warm, with temperatures measured between 38 and 42°C (100.4 and 107.6°F). That slightly edges out tests performed on the Eee PC 900 (101°F / 38°C), and leaves your Cloudbook (83°F / 28°C) as cool as a cucumber. There’s no word on the bottom side’s heat signature, but with keys like this we aren’t expecting good things. via engadget a 10.2" Netbooks, Bad Laptops, bottom side, cucumber, eee pc, fahrenheit, heat signature, hp, HP Laptops, keyboard, laptop, Laptop News, lenovo, Lenovo Laptops, money, s10, temperatures
a

The new Raon Digital Everun Notebook comes with a touchscreen and lots of “small” functionalities for the power user at the current predicted retail price of $879 USD. It looks pretty small to me and I do like that couple with a 7″ 1024×600 pixels, which provide you with plenty room to scroll. Of course, the price doesn’t justify the features provided in my opinion but there’s enough power in this small 7-inch beast. (I do like the Windows XP, no more Vista on any of my new comps.) This balance of leading-edge power, battery life and miniaturisation doesn’t come cheap but in the world of pro-mo devices, this is really on-the-mark. The recommended sales price is $879 (US, before tax.) which means its way, way cheaper than the other high-performance UMPCs, the Sony UX and the Q1 Ultra Premium and it includes a 16mm pitch keyboard and easy 3G upgrade path. With Windows XP Home (yes, I know some of you would be looking for TE or Vista) it will really fly. via engadget, umpcportal Other Resources: Link to Technical Specs of Raon Digital Everun Notebook a 1024x600, 7" Netbooks, battery life, beast, functionalities, high performance, keyboard, Laptop News, … Continue reading →
a

Wow, check out this foldable laptop that is on sale at eBay. It’s a Xentex Dual 13.3″ screen laptop, which is a prototype and one and only of its kind. I purchased this a few years back as a project but it just ended up sitting in my closet. This is a rare Xentex Dual Screen Laptop. Each screen is 13.3″ and one pivots so that one can be facing you and the other one facing the person sitting on the other side of the laptop. This was a prototype and is missing some parts but does turn on so I have no doubt someone can make this work with the right skills. This has to be the worlds largest laptop when unfolded which measures about 19.5″ across when you unfold it. This company had a great idea on the hinging concept because the entire laptop folds twice making it very portable. The keyboard is functional and it does type and you can enter the bios but I have not been able to go past that since I do not have a hard drive cable (which appears to be a custom cable with 1mm pitch) and I do not have … Continue reading →
a

Here’s a really simple and easy way to get your laptop standing if you get tired of crouching over your laptop and you need to put it on a desk using a file sorter. I find myself using my laptop for long periods of time. It does get uncomfortable after a while. The keyboard and screen should ideally be separate to reduce neckstrain during prolonged use. If you are a full time laptop user, I suggest you build something like this that will help you raise your monitor to a near eye level. This way you can have both the keyboard and the monitor in the right positions. via instructables a desk, diy, eye level, full time, howto, keyboard, Laptop Accessories, Laptop DIY, laptop stand, laptop user, long periods of time, make
a

Here’s a cool laptop for kids. The keyboard is actually not a real keyboard but a touchscreen that can be also used as LCD. Negroponte didn’t share many details about the XO-2’s hardware, but the new system has two touch-sensitive displays. As you can see from the video and the pictures, the XO-2 will be much smaller than the original machine (half the size, according to the press release) and will have a foldable e-book form factor. “The next generation laptop should be a book,” Negroponte said. via Laptopmag a e book, keyboard, Kids Laptops, laptop, negroponte, next generation, olpc xo, press release, touchscreen
a

It’s a great thing we never get to see or buy practically any Samsung laptops in the U.S. but most of their new technology does get fit into Dells, HPS, and you name it so… this is a good news for all laptops. When will we get them? Samsung reckons it will soon have the problems of manufacturing large AMOLED screens licked. What you see above is the beautiful result, which we believe is a real prototype, not a mock-up. The 12.1″ screen is a hybrid of OLED and TFT, and in the picture appears to be a little bigger than that keyboard. We’re not sure exactly what’s going on around the back, either.
