This laptop is a cross between the fifteen inch Studio 15 and the 13.3 inch Studio XPS 13, but do not hold that against it, because although Dell machines are not the highlight of the laptop world for some people these new machines are well worth a look. As with most Dell’s there is the option to take this laptop to the limit with a 4 Gb worth of RAM and if required a dedicated ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3450. Clearly, there is a 14.1 inch screen with a resolution of 1280 x 800; this is also backlit, which is convenient. Priced at around $700 Source [Trusted Reviews] [Gallery] a 14" Laptops, ati mobility, Dell Laptops, dell machines, gb, hd, highlight, laptop, mobility radeon
a

Samsung has recently introduced their new netbook to the U.S. market. (In the past, we haven’t really seen any of Samsung laptops in the U.S. which I believe is due to unpopularity. But they are popular all over Asia) The Samsung NC10 looks really good with almost exact specs as the new ASUS Eee PC 1000HA (which we recommend). The only difference is that the NC10 comes with bluetooth which ASUS Eee PCs don’t. (That’s not a big advantage though, you can always buy a $20 bluetooth unit and add it to the Eee PC) As far a pricing goes, the Samsung costs about $60 more than the Eee PC. Our final verdict is not to buy this unless you are a hardcore Samsung fan. Samsung does make great laptops and I don’t see why not you’d pay a little extra for that. Here’s the specs for the Samsung NC10 Netbook: 10.2″ Wide, 1024 x 600 WSVGA , 220 nits Intel Atom Processor N270, 1.6 GHz, 533 MHz Front Side Bus, 512 KB Level 2 Cache 160 GB, 2.5″ HD, 1 GB DDR2 800 MHz Intel® 945GSE shared, 802.11 b/g WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR, 10/100 BaseTX LAN 6-Cell Lithium … Continue reading →
a

Toshiba rolls out a new 12.1″ widescreen laptop loaded with Intel Core 2 Duo Processor SU9300, 3GB PC6400 DDR2 800MHz SDRAM, 160GB HDD, DVD, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD, and webcam. Toshiba’s new Portege A600 will allow you to watch HD movies except there’s one important thing missing, there’s no DVI outputs for connecting to your HDTV. If that’s something you don’t care about, this is a great laptop but still, I’d have to say the pricing is a little bit higher than it’s specs. Another plus feature is its USB Sleep-and-Charge/eSATA Combo Port as said: Plug into more speed and convenience. Charge your smart phone and any other USB powered portable electronics even when your laptop is off. Or get faster transfer rate when using an external eSATA hard drive. Either way, this Portege laptop gives you the ports you need to get the job done. This is a minor feature that I would rather pay less than have the extra feature. Overall, if you like Toshibas, this is a good laptop but I’d still rather get a $600 Dell, which would be about the same minus memory, webcam, and stuff I don’t really absolutely need. via … Continue reading →
a

Alienware launches their Area 51 m17x 17-inch laptop. Well, I am a big fan of 17-inch laptops even though there is the mini-laptop kraze in the air. The freakin’ laptop comes with a NVIDIA® GeForce® 8800M GTX with up to 1GB of dedicated graphics memory , which makes my mouth water. Of course, performace does come at price and you will be seeing at least $5,000 before you can experience ultimate gaming experience. The Verdict This is a fully customizable laptop so it can be a good desktop-substitute laptop for all your computing needs. But don’t buy it if you need a portable laptop, I doubt the battery will last with all the power consumption. The Area 51 does include many HD options so if you are going to hook up your HD LCD TV to your laptop, this is the ultimate laptop to get. Alienware computers are fast and powerful. Outfitting the Area-51 m17x notebook with the Intel® Core™ 2 Extreme processor, Alienware achieves benchmarks previously unimagined on a mobile system. HD video editing, audio mixing, 3D model rendering and other resource intensive applications suddenly seem less taxing when you have the power of an Alienware behind you. via … Continue reading →
a

You know, all my laptop problems have either been from lack of storage of lack of extra harddisk so I can install some proprietary linux OS for testing. Here’s ASUS 1TB Laptop that comes with 2 whammo 500MB hard disks and not too chunky at 8.8 pounds.\ And while spec-wise the M70S is a loaded baked potato (2.5GHz Core 2 Duo, 4 gigs of RAM, Blu-ray, TV tuner, and an ATI Radeon HD 3650), the machine is buggy in day-to-day use. Applications installed only after hiccups, strange lags erupted almost at random, and baffling messages asserting DRM errors popped up when we did something as simple as playing back a standard DVD. Most troubling: Windows Vista only reported 3GB of RAM instead of the four we knew were present. Whether the hardware isn’t up to snuff or the M70S has driver problems than can be ironed out with an update or two was impossible to determine, but the issues were consistent throughout our testing. Power through the issues and you’ll find the M70S offers exceptional performance, though not record-breaking by any stretch. $2,399 isn’t a terrible deal for the surfeit of goodies you get, but gamers with cash to burn … Continue reading →
a
