Review of the Best Netbooks at Amazon

eee-pc-1000h

You might be wondering which Netbooks are the best to get these days, well let me explain what a “netbook” is in the first place.  Netbooks are laptops with smaller screen size of around 8.9″ or 10.1″.  Basically, you get a 1024×600 or 1200×800 resolution screen.

Should you get a netbook?

Eee PC Hack – How to Make Windows XP get along with SSD (Solid State Drives)!

enableprefetcher

Here’s a good Eee PC hack that will allow you to run your Windows XP faster with SSDs.  This could probably apply to any netbook with SSDs.

Cheaper SSD drives like our Core V1 and Core V2 series have limitations with random writes filling up the write buffer on the drive and causing the SATA controller to pause while this is flushed. The reason for this is Nand MLC drives at present have to erase before they write…hence you get added latency. So every bit written to the drive has to be preceded by a bit erased, the drive can not write

Lenovo IdeaPad S10 gets Too Hot!

Lenovo IdeaPad S10 gets Too Hot!

Remember our Lenovo IdeaPad S10 review?  Well, it seems like there was a missing fact, that this laptop gets way too hot near 100 degrees fahrenheit.

I personally own 2 HP laptops that has overheating problems over regular use.

If this heat isn’t fixed, I am not sure if a Lenovo IdeaPad S10 will last that long.

For now, I say hold onto your money for something else.

The keyboard itself gets pretty warm, with temperatures measured between 38 and 42°C (100.4 and 107.6°F). That slightly edges o

Is ASUS N10 Netbook Mini-Laptop the higher-end version of Eee PC?

Is ASUS N10 Netbook Mini-Laptop the higher-end version of Eee PC?

The new 10.2″ ASUS N10 mini-notebook is like the higher-end version of the Eee PC with 1024×768 pixel display.

I do like the Eee PC but I prefer a laptop with at least 1024×768 display for normal business use.

With the new ASUS N10, I might actually be able to get some work done on my laptop and carry it around with ease.

Apart from Digitimes saying pricing will be in the range of €300 – €400 ($446 – $595) — which we’re not buying

Dell’s new Inspiron 910, the first ever mini-notebook by Dell, will have an option to have Ubuntu Linux installed from factory.

FYI, Ubuntu is a free operating system based on Linux.  It’s not the easiest Linux to install (well most Linux are pretty damn hard to install) but since Ubuntu comes installed in the new Dell, we think it’s a better deal than Windows or a Mac.
