For anyone who is waiting for this Asus convertible tablet to hit the streets do not panic this is not going to happen for some time, maybe one or two months time. However, it is still good the have a look at it in good time. The T91 will have the nine inch display, but they could be producing a ten inch display version too, as if that is going to make much difference. Clearly, these devices are touch screen, so users will need to watch out for sticky finger marks every now and then. It comes with an optional 3G modem, GPS receiver, and/or DVB-T television tuner and the low powered Intel Atom Z520 CPU means that the battery could run for up to 5 hours on a single charge. Source [Liliputing] a 10" Netbooks, 8.9" Netbooks, ASUS Netbooks, atom, dvb, eee pc, intel, modem gps, t91, television tuner
a

Currently it is supposed to be just for the Eee PC 901 and live near to an Asus service centre.
You might be wondering which Netbooks are the best to get these days, well let me explain what a “netbook” is in the first place. Netbooks are laptops with smaller screen size of around 8.9″ or 10.1″. Basically, you get a 1024×600 or 1200×800 resolution screen. Should you get a netbook? Well, netbooks are great for people who need something between a Blackberry and a laptop. You can get a lot of things done on a netbook, but don’t expect super-fast blazing speeds or work on your latest Photoshop graphic project. For older people who have hard time reading regular 15″ laptops, netbooks are going to be a pain, so don’t get one if you have to use your reading glasses. (But if you must explore, go ahead, they are cheaper than most laptops) For students who need a laptop for college classes, I think netbooks are great because most of them weigh less than 2.5 pounds and they will fit in your extra-large Louis Vuitton bag or your backpack too. For bloggers and professionals who need a laptop to work on writing and images, netbooks are horrible as the keyboard is too small and on-board touchpad is too funky … Continue reading →
a

Here’s a good Eee PC hack that will allow you to run your Windows XP faster with SSDs. This could probably apply to any netbook with SSDs. Cheaper SSD drives like our Core V1 and Core V2 series have limitations with random writes filling up the write buffer on the drive and causing the SATA controller to pause while this is flushed. The reason for this is Nand MLC drives at present have to erase before they write…hence you get added latency. So every bit written to the drive has to be preceded by a bit erased, the drive can not write over the top of pre written data. What we are trying to do here is limit how much XP writes to cache/database. many apps within XP do this, apps you add also do this (such as outlook) The tweaks you will see listed may help with this, SSD’s do not take well to lots of tiny random writes. via hackszine a apps, ASUS Netbooks, cache database, eee pc, Laptop DIY, Laptop Hack, Laptop News, netbook, Netbook Reviews, pc hack, solid state drives, SSD, SSD, ssd drives, tweaks, v1, windows xp, write buffer
a

Remember our Lenovo IdeaPad S10 review? Well, it seems like there was a missing fact, that this laptop gets way too hot near 100 degrees fahrenheit. I personally own 2 HP laptops that has overheating problems over regular use. If this heat isn’t fixed, I am not sure if a Lenovo IdeaPad S10 will last that long. For now, I say hold onto your money for something else. The keyboard itself gets pretty warm, with temperatures measured between 38 and 42°C (100.4 and 107.6°F). That slightly edges out tests performed on the Eee PC 900 (101°F / 38°C), and leaves your Cloudbook (83°F / 28°C) as cool as a cucumber. There’s no word on the bottom side’s heat signature, but with keys like this we aren’t expecting good things. via engadget a 10.2" Netbooks, Bad Laptops, bottom side, cucumber, eee pc, fahrenheit, heat signature, hp, HP Laptops, keyboard, laptop, Laptop News, lenovo, Lenovo Laptops, money, s10, temperatures
a

That’s right, after months of leaked photos by its CEO Michael Dell, confirmation, and deliberation, the Inspiron Mini 9 is finally available to order online here. The cheapest version of Inspiron Mini 9 comes with an Intel Atom N270 processor, Ubuntu 8.04, 8.9″ 1024x 600 LCD display, 512MB DDR memory, 4GB Solid State Drive, and Wifi. At $349, it’s going to be a close call between the Eee PC and Mini 9. If you want to take advantage, get the top-notch version which comes with Windows XP instead of Ubuntu, 1GB of memory, and 16GB of Solid State Drive. Of course, you are free to even add and customize even more to liking but we warn you, most customized laptops perform worse than off-the-shelf ones. a atom, buy inspiron mini, ceo michael dell, confirmation, deliberation, Dell Laptops, dell mini-laptop, dell mini-notebook, dell netbook, eee pc, inspiron mini 9, intel, Laptop News, Laptop Reviews, Laptop Rumors, laptops, liking, memory, photos, solid state drive, top notch version, wifi, windows xp
a

Dell’s new Inspiron 910, the first ever mini-notebook by Dell, will have an option to have Ubuntu Linux installed from factory. FYI, Ubuntu is a free operating system based on Linux. It’s not the easiest Linux to install (well most Linux are pretty damn hard to install) but since Ubuntu comes installed in the new Dell, we think it’s a better deal than Windows or a Mac. Of course, Dell never has sold Linux-equipped PCs in the past but they are starting to change along with everyone else in this world. We hope that one day, we would never have to even know what “Windows” is and that enough Linux systems will be available for every laptop. At least finally, I might buy a Dell again, simply because they provide an option for “Window-lessness”. There’s a lot to like about the Inspiron 910 – the 1.6GHz Intel Atom CPU is a beaut, it comes fitted with 512MB or 1GB or memory, has a sweet looking 8.9″ WLED screen running at 1024 x 600, three USB ports, a LAN port, decent audio and storage options ranging from 4GB to 16GB (4GB feels a little on the tight side to me, I think I’d … Continue reading →
a

I really like this concept as I feel that ASUS Eee PCs weren’t going to satisfy my high-power requirements for mobile computing. According to CNET Crave Taiwan and HKEPC, Asus is preparing a high-end version of Eee PC that features 64GB SSD. The new laptop will named as the S101 and the Eee PC brand will be dropped to reflect the higher price tag of $899 USD.
Asus is coming out with another Eee PC, Eec PC 904 very soon… To hit this price point there are other differences. For instance, you won’t find an Intel Atom inside. Instead, the 900MHz Celeron M used in the 900 will power the 904 and be backed by 1024MB of memory. As with the 1000, you’ll find an 80GB laptop hard drive in there and it will ship with Windows XP as standard. Asus is claiming a weight of 1.4kg. With the announcement of the Eee PC 904, Asus has also re-aligned the pricing of its Eee PC 901. The model will now sell for £299 (inc. VAT), instead of £329 (inc. VAT) as initially announced, main it even better value. via whatlaptop a ASUS Netbooks, atom, eec pc 904, eee pc, eee pc 904, intel, laptop hard drive, memory, windows xp
a
