Laptop stands do not have to be complicated or expensive, but it seems that is way that many laptop owners tend to go, even though it does not have to be that way at all. Check out this stand, the designer claims it costs just $1, we say you can do it for less than that! Never the less this is an innovation and you will always have a spare loo roll handy should you need it. Source [Danzam Bonini] a cheap, diy, laptop, Laptop Accessories, laptop stand, stands
a

Check out this incredible Dell Mini 9 that someone hacked into a mini tablet! Brilliant! If you know a little bit about disassembling laptops and hardware, this might be a doable project for you. The base model is a Dell Vostro A90 (bluetooth, .3mp webcam, 1GB RAM, upgraded 16GB SSD). The touchscreen is the Hoda Technology solderless touchscreen kit. I started this project back in June, and it was 80% complete then. I took a break for a few months then finally started filling in the gaps in the frame with plastic epoxy. It took me another few weeks to come up with a way to mount the power switch and the covers for where the hinges were. It is fully complete and functional now, though I will probably go ahead and paint/primer the body filler and paint the powerswitch silver from its current green color. I also am looking into adding an accelerometer to automatically rotate the screen, similar to an iphone. via hackaday a accelerometer, dell mini 9, dell mini hack, dell vostro, diy, Laptop DIY, Laptop Hack, laptops
a

Here’s a rather interesting laptop DIY where Mike has built a laptop stand that will fit perfectly snug in his car’s cup-holder using PVC pipes. This might beat the socks off many in-car laptop stands out there that cost big dollars. Heck, I am gonna go make one this week! Great DIY Mike! The commercially made units also bolt to the floor and take time and tools to install and remove. I always thought there had to be a better way. One day I had a brainstorm. I figured out a quick and easy way to build a laptop tray for my Tacoma that cost a little over $30! Thats 1/10 of what the commercially made units cost! And it only took me an afternoon to build it. via hackaday a brainstorm, cup holder, diy, Laptop Accessories, Laptop DIY, Laptop DIY, Laptop Fun, Laptop Fun, Laptop Hack, Laptop Hack, Laptop News, laptop stand, laptop tray, pvc pipes, socks
a

Here’s a really cool DIY on how to run OS X on your Dell Mini 9 Netbook! I guess this would be a cheap way of acquiring a MacBook really. The steps to Leopard-ize the mini are actually quite simple and easy to follow. After you download the slipstreamed ISO and burn the 3.2GB ISO to a DVD you boot up the Dell mini off a external DVD drive (Press 0 (Zero) at the BIOS screen) and installed Leopard as usual. via engadget, DIY Page a 2gb, dell, Dell Laptops, diy, external dvd drive, Laptop DIY, Laptop Fun, Laptop Hack, Laptop News, macbook, netbook, Netbook Reviews, os x
a

Here’s a really simple and easy way to get your laptop standing if you get tired of crouching over your laptop and you need to put it on a desk using a file sorter. I find myself using my laptop for long periods of time. It does get uncomfortable after a while. The keyboard and screen should ideally be separate to reduce neckstrain during prolonged use. If you are a full time laptop user, I suggest you build something like this that will help you raise your monitor to a near eye level. This way you can have both the keyboard and the monitor in the right positions. via instructables a desk, diy, eye level, full time, howto, keyboard, Laptop Accessories, Laptop DIY, laptop stand, laptop user, long periods of time, make
a

Great for use in bed while typing, browsing, and especially watching movies. When I use my laptop in bed, it’s often uncomfortable. I have to balance the laptop on my lap and sit up, or on my chest when laying down. This laptop stand makes both laying and sitting laptop use a whole lot more comfortable, and it’s simple to make… about $15 and 30 minutes.
