DIY – How to Run OS X on your Dell Mini 9 Netbook!

Here’s a really cool DIY on how to run OS X on your Dell Mini 9 Netbook!  I guess this would be a cheap way of acquiring a MacBook really.

The steps to Leopard-ize the mini are actually quite simple and easy to follow. After you download the slipstreamed ISO and burn the 3.2GB ISO to a DVD you boot up the Dell mini off a external DVD drive (Press 0 (Zero) at the BIOS screen) and installed Leopard as usual.

Why?

Because now you have to pay for Vista, which most users will uninstall anyways or miserably keep using while giving the Microsoft company the big middle finger everytime the computer stalls.

It looks like that mysterious listing on Dell’s support site for a “Studio 1535″ laptop is evidence of a larger branding push soon to come — we just got a tip that says Dell’s planning on creating an entire Studio line as “a midpoint between performance XPS systems and entry-level Inspiron systems.”

Dell is now offering 320GB 7200rpm SATA hard drives.

While a flood of 7200rpm 320GB notebook-sized hard drives dropped not too long ago from pretty much all the majors, Dell is actually the first notebook maker to ante up and offer them (from Seagate) in their 17-inch XPS notebooks.
