There is a sure way for computer makers to make more money and that it to take their product glam it up a bit, call it special or limited edition and add $50 to $100 to the price tag. Well maybe I was a little cynical there. Any way Dell are bringing out a special edition of the Studio Line 15.4 inch laptop, they have thrown in special paintwork and a choice of three trims.

It may not be much but the Dell 1410 is a fairly user friendly machine and because of this there are millions of sales each year. To this end the company has decided to offer some upgrades to the 1410, they may not be anything special when compared to other machines that are available but never the less getting something extra is always a great thing, isn’t it?

Despite the claims by computer and chip makers like Dell and Intel, that the term “Netbook” should be cancelled as a trademark of Psion, because they do not sell any hardware. The company at the root of the Netbook scandal Psion have responded with a letter claiming that they are still selling Netbooks.

The first mini laptop from Dell the Inspiron Mini 10 has now got its own page on the home shopping channel QVC, the company put up the page shortly after making the announcement that they would be selling this device through this network. Is this the machine that finally makes Dell the complete computer maker or not?

The computer maker from Taiwan, Acer are expected to announce at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona later on this month, that they intend to join the smart phone market too. This follows the intentions of Dell and Toshiba who will be bringing out their own version of this popular device.
