This is the Manli laptop as on display at the Computex 2009, this has been featured before but not with so much up close and personal detail. Hence, the repeat, but more information warrants it. We have to wonder though, will we ever see these computers here or is this just another brand that is limited to the eastern market.
The computer makers have been busy at the Computex show, one surprising return to the business is ECS, they have not been around for a while, but now they are back with three different models. Features: ECS T10IL, which weighs less than 1 kilogram (or about 2.2 pounds) and features a 10.1 inch display, 1.8″hard drive or SSD, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and an HSUPA modem. ECS V10IL which has a 10.1 or 10.2 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel display, a 2.5 inch 160GB hard drive, and an HSUPA modem. Bluetooth is optional. ECS T21IL is a larger model with an 11.6 inch, 1366 x 768 pixel display. It’ll sport an Intel Celeron based CULV processor instead of Intel Atom, but ECS is still aiming to keep this machine thin and light. It has a 1.8″hard drive.
Looks like ASUS w/ Intel’s Montevina and AMD Puma processors have been leaked: Based on the existing M51 and M70 lines, the M51VR will feature a 2.26GHz Penryn P8400 with 3MB of L2 cache on Montevina’s 1.06GHz bus, while the M51VA and M70VM (pictured) will get 2.53GHz T9400s with 6MB of cache. ASUS should also be showing off the Puma-based F5Z and X50Z laptops with 1.9GHz AMD Athlon64 X2 QL-60 chips, 667MHz buses, ATI Mobility Radeon HD3200 graphics and 15.4-inch screens at Computex, so it’ll be interesting to see how these bad boys do side-by-side.
With the popularity of Asus Eec PC rising, Asus has just hinted that they might possibly looking at a touchscreen model of Asus Eec PC laptops. Editors at Laptop Pimp predict that these new touchscreen laptops could possible come with multi-touch technology. Asus Australia national retail manager, Emmanuele Silanesu, said the company’s Eee PC division was “obviously looking at other form factors rather than just a clamshell”. While he could not give further details, Silanesu said the new model would use a touchscreen and hinted it could see the light at Taipei’s Computex show, which begins 3 June. The original Eee PC 700 was unveiled at the show last year. However, Silanesu also hinted the new model may not be badged as an Eee PC, due to its change via current Here’s a video of Microsoft’s Surface demo from CES 2008: Download latest version of Flash to view video!.
Rumor say that ASUS is building an ASUS Eee Linux Box. Basically, it looks almost like a Wii or something but don’t expect any gaming consoles, it’s still just a computer that looks stylish. As per our previous speculation, an official launch of the Eee Box will indeed take place on June 3rd at Computex in Taiwan. Hardly surprising given the show is in Taiwan, the home of Asus and many a computing manufacturer. Specs wise, our source told us the machines would be launching with 2GB RAM as standard, along with a 160GB hard drive – obviously not an SSD. These new machines will be running the same Linux distro found on the Eee PCs – no bad thing by our reckoning. It’ll be launching in the UK in Q3 and be available and be available in white, though no word was made as to the availability of the proposed black version. Finally, and somewhat disappointingly, our source couldn’t confirm whether these early systems would in fact be using the Centrino Atom platform adding: “I honestly don’t know at this point”. In any case, with other vendors beginning to announce Atom powered machines, the odds are overwhelmingly stacked in … Continue reading →
a
