They both have very similar specs including a Blu-ray drive and a choice of the Intel Core i3 or i5 processor. The introduction of this laptop could change the face of what sort of computer gets to have a Blu-ray drive installed.

Acer 571 with Blu-Ray Review

The latest offering from Acer has thrown up some interesting concepts, none more so that the Aspire One 571 this has the usual 10.1 inch display, but comes with a mini Blu-ray drive that writes and reads tiny Blu-ray discs that measure only 32 mm but can store around 1 Gb of data.

Review of the Toshiba Qosmio range

There are four new models to look at in this new range, which make the best of the Spurs Engine Technology that is used for encoding HD video at lightning speed in either YouTube HD mode or Blu-ray video. The Gateway P-7811FX is Gateway’s first retail laptop available only through Best Buy. It’s a little older, but I thought it was worth taking a look at because its specs and design are really holding up against some really recent additions to the laptop market.

Obviously, just by looking at it, you can see that the 7811FX fits right in with any number of current laptops in the design category. The orange piping is like totally right now. (Sorry.) But beyond looks, who are the specs on this $1,499 laptop?

Here’s another cool gaming laptop from Packard Bell called iPower GX.  I haven’t really heard about Packard Bell as a company that much so I might not get something like this, especially since laptops are crucial in terms of brands you get.

The iPower GX also features 1,920 x 1,200 resolution display, nVidia 9800M GTS 1GB video card, Intel Core 2 Quad Q9100 processor, Draft-N Wi-Fi connectivity and Optional Blu-ray drive. You should have at least 1,499 Euro to buy this laptop. The Packard Bell iPower GX will be released in October 2008
