Computer maker Dell has updated their range of Studio computers, namely the XPS 13 and 16. There has been a marked improvement in style and design, with a little bit of effort being put in for functionality. One such feature is the addition of leather trim, backlit keyboard, and as many ports as you can handle. There are many options as per usual with Dell, in fact in some cases there probably too many options to choose from. Source [PC World] a 13.1" Laptops, 16.4" Laptops, backlit keyboard, computer maker dell, Dell Laptops, functionality, ports, xps
a

Best of the Net: Alexander Wolf wonders why anyone wants a new laptop: [U]nless you covet a new MacBook, you’re not crossing your fingers in hopes of finding a shiny new notebook computer under the tree. Smartphones, netbooks, and digital SLRs, definitely. But laptops? Yawn! Dan Costa wonders if Netbooks are the new notebooks: But can the netbook replace the notebook? Here at PC Magazine, we learn by doing, so I hit the road with netbook in tow. cNet names Sony’s 18″ laptop it’s home movie favorite: [I]magine our pleasant surprise to find the Vaio AW125 to be less expensive than the other 18-inch, Blu-ray equipped laptops we’ve seen. John Morris looks at Best Buy’s newest marketing ploy: According to Best Buy customers are looking for a decent-size display in a thin and lightweight laptop, a backlit keyboard and a standard two-year warranty. Otherwise, it’s a pretty slow day out there in notebook world. Send me your news tips and hacks if you have them. I always love to post user ideas! a alexander wolf, backlit keyboard, best buy, laptop, Laptop News, laptops, macbook, Netbook Reviews, notebook computer, notebooks, pc magazine, roundup
a

Another laptop available through Best Buy, the Toshiba Satellite E105-S1402 is based on consumer research and the final product reflects that. Stylistically, the Satellite E105-S1402 has a funky finish case and a backlit keyboard. But more than that, it packs some solid specs for a under $2,000 notebook. However, some flimsy plastic and poor interior design pull down what could be a spectacular setup. The folks over at Laptop Mag had some nice things to say, with the overall verdict seeming a little “Good, but blah.” In fact, for comparable specs at a comparable price, they even suggested checking out a MacBook. I can see that. The basic specs: Operating System: Microsoft Windows Vista Home Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 Processor Speed: 2.26 GHz RAM: 4 GB Weight: 4.9 lbs. Display Size: 14.1 inches Graphics: Intel GMA 4500MHD Storage Capacity: 320 GB Networking Options: 802.11 a/g/n Primary Optical Drive: Dual-Layer DVD+/-RW For a complete specs breakdown and more info check with Toshiba’s website. a 14" Laptops, backlit keyboard, best buy, dual layer dvd rw, e105, Laptop Reviews, microsoft windows vista, processor intel, Toshiba Laptop, toshiba satellite
a

For HP’s first consumer 13-inch notebook, the company too the advice of consumers and put out a powerful, reasonably thin laptop that works best for home couch computing. Simple design perks like a backlit keyboard and a remote make it competitive with the MacBook. Superior specs like the Intel Centrino Core 2 Duo processor, the built-in 4 GB of RAM and a GForce 9300M graphic set make the HP Pavilion dv3510nr a fast, powerful system for minor gamers and professional web surfers. Laptop Magazine praised the dv3510nr for it’s superior WiFi abilities but pinged the HP for poor battery life. cNet also liked the dv3510nr, noting the notebooks fun features like a fingerprint reader and excess of ports. However, both reviewers noticed the sluggish touchpad. So, if you end up with a dv3510nr, make sure to add an optical mouse to the shopping cart. Overall, the dv3510nr is a great laptop for the couch, as you will want to stay close to a power outlet. Available through Best Buy, the dv3510nr has a great price point of $1,100. For that price, you can afford a power strip and a new mouse to go with it. Take a look at the … Continue reading →
a
