The time is getting closer to when Windows 7 will be released and it is already being planned to roll out installed in some netbooks in October, but is it any good? This is question that is playing on minds of many computer users, but netbooks are being sold with XP, which is over eight years old. It is hoped that when Windows 7 is installed on netbooks that sales will go through the roof. However, there is one thing that has come to light when it comes to measuring the two; it seems that Windows 7 is not as kind on the battery as XP is, according to research carried out by Legit Reviews on the Asus Eee PC 1005HA.
We have all heard of the battery power of the Asus Eee PC 1000HE, as with many manufacturers Asus are claiming that the battery in the back of the machine is super long lasting but they would say that wouldn’t they. So how long does the Asus battery last, so luckily, there have been some testing done on this six cell battery and the results are spectacular on a single charge this battery has been found to offer usage of between six hours and thirty one minutes to nine hours and twenty four minutes. Now that is impressive. Source [Portable Monkey] a 10" Netbooks, asus eee pc, ASUS Netbooks, battery power, cell battery, impressive source, Laptop Accessories, Laptop Batteries, six hours
a

For anyone who has always wanted to have a touch screen application on their laptop can have their wish answered with the Asus Eee PC 1000 HE. The touch screen kit has been used on the ten inch Asus Eee PC, it is by Fidohub and to help users get used to it there is video tutorial on offer. Installing the touch screen technology is easy enough, allegedly! But sometimes it is easy to have a video of the job first to get an idea of what is going where, at least this way you get to see it before the work starts. The kit costs around $100, but you can get it already installed on the 1000 HE for just $500 and with no fiddling around. Source [Portable Monkey] a 10" Netbooks, asus eee pc, ASUS Netbooks, laptop, screen application, touch screen kit, touch screen technology, video tutorial
a

There isn’t tons of information out there on the new Asus Eee PC 1002HA, but what we do know is pretty impressive. Starting just under $500, this is one of the first strictly business targeted netbooks. They have a very serious case of MacBook lookalike syndrome, which never hurts. As another note to design, Asus is saying this has a more sizable keyboard. Internally, most the specs are about on par with netbooks, and it adds up to the standard mid-2 pound range for the overall weight. One upgreade is a 160 GB drive and the inclusin of 10 GB of online storage space, which will be the next big trend in computing. This will be a great business netbook, but it’s the tyoe of machine that will be great for the average user, too.
We talk about netbooks a lot here on LaptopPimp, and we also tend to wonder about the future of Mac and the netbook market. Well, MacWorld got around to wondering the same things and they posted a large article about how the Asus Eee PC holds up against a MacBook. Here’s some of the highlights: Size: My first impression—and one that’s endured—is that the 1000HA is small. Smaller, in fact, than any laptop I’ve ever owned. So it was complete culture shock to suddenly find myself with a laptop computer with a downsized keyboard (Asus claims it’s about 92 percent the size of a “full” laptop keyboard, but it definitely is markedly smaller than what I’m used to) and overall dimensions so small that I have trouble balancing it on my lap without having it fall through my legs. The keyboard does have nubs on the home row keys, which makes touch-typing possible. The unusual and somewhat cramped keyboard layout (cursor keys jammed into an area to the left of the right shift key) took me about a day to get used to. No OSX: The operating system running on the Eee PC is likely to be the biggest Achilles’ … Continue reading →
a

With a lot of recent buzz about the addition of 3G to some popular Mini Netbooks, bot the Dell and HP, I thought I’d show you a hack I found a while back on how to add 3G to an Asus Eee PC. It’s actually pretty easy and it gives you even more freedom with one of the best netbooks out there. Adding 3G can have a lot of benefits, and pretty much every netbook should be thinking about how to access the 3G network. But, as companies are still figuring it out, you can hack you Eee PC to do it right now. Here’s how: a 3g network, asus eee pc, ASUS Netbooks, freedom, hack, Laptop Hack, netbook, Netbook Reviews
a

Samsung has recently introduced their new netbook to the U.S. market. (In the past, we haven’t really seen any of Samsung laptops in the U.S. which I believe is due to unpopularity. But they are popular all over Asia) The Samsung NC10 looks really good with almost exact specs as the new ASUS Eee PC 1000HA (which we recommend). The only difference is that the NC10 comes with bluetooth which ASUS Eee PCs don’t. (That’s not a big advantage though, you can always buy a $20 bluetooth unit and add it to the Eee PC) As far a pricing goes, the Samsung costs about $60 more than the Eee PC. Our final verdict is not to buy this unless you are a hardcore Samsung fan. Samsung does make great laptops and I don’t see why not you’d pay a little extra for that. Here’s the specs for the Samsung NC10 Netbook: 10.2″ Wide, 1024 x 600 WSVGA , 220 nits Intel Atom Processor N270, 1.6 GHz, 533 MHz Front Side Bus, 512 KB Level 2 Cache 160 GB, 2.5″ HD, 1 GB DDR2 800 MHz Intel® 945GSE shared, 802.11 b/g WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR, 10/100 BaseTX LAN 6-Cell Lithium … Continue reading →
a

ASUS Eee PC 1000HA is probably the best Eee PC netbook you will buy currently, equipped with 160GB of storage, Intel Atom N270 1.6Ghz processor, Windows XP, WiFi, Ethernet, and Webcam all packed into just 3.19 pounds of netbook flesh. Of course, this is the preferred laptop over its 1000HD predecessor. If you are thinking about buying an Eee PC or a netbook in general, I think this 1000HA is going to be the best deal you will get, equipped with all the necessary features for a road-warrior. Here’s the specs for the ASUS Eee PC 1000HA: Operating system: Windows XP Home Internal memory: 160 GB hard disk drive (HDD) RAM: 1 GB DDR2 Processor: 1.6 GHz Intel Atom Memory expansion: Slot for MMC/SD(SDHC) cards Screen: 10 inches, 1024 x 600 pixels, LED backlight Networking: 54g Wi-Fi (802.11b/g), 10/100 Fast Ethernet Bluetooth connectivity: No Peripheral connectivity: Three USB 2.0 External video: One VGA External audio: One headphone and one microphone port Webcamera: Yes, 1.3 megapixels Battery: 6 cells (6600 mAh), up to 7 hours Weight: 3.19 pounds (51 ounces) Dimensions: 10.5 × 7.5 × 1.5 inches Buy Eee PC 1000HA at Amazon a 10.2" Netbooks, 1024x600, 6 cells, amazon, asus … Continue reading →
a

One of ASUS’s newest Eee PC 1000HD is probably a great choice for anyone who doesn’t mind its Linux operating system. Of course, as for me, I rather have a Windows XP and install Linux afterwards if I feel like it. Of course, another side to this story is that the 1000HD has an Intel Celeron M processor versus an Intel Atom N270 processor. (which I prefer. Celerons have proven to be slow in the past.) The other better half of Eee PC 1000HD is the 1000HA, which we will be reviewing next. Before that, you can absorb all the specs and raves about the Eee PC 1000HD here: Operating system: Linux Internal memory: 80 GB hard disk drive (HDD) RAM: 1 GB DDR2 Processor: 900 MHz Intel Celeron M 353 Memory expansion: Slot for MMC/SD(SDHC) cards Screen: 10 inches, 1024 x 600 pixels, LED backlight Networking: Draft-N Wi-Fi (802.11b/g/n), 10/100 Fast Ethernet Bluetooth connectivity: Yes Peripheral connectivity: Three USB 2.0 External video: One VGA External audio: One headphone and one microphone port Webcamera: Yes, 1.3 megapixels Battery: 6 cells (6600 mAh), up to 4.6 hours Weight: 3.19 pounds (51 ounces) Dimensions: 10.5 × 7.5 × 1.5 inches UPDATE: Eee … Continue reading →
a

Remember we Latop Pimps predicted that ASUS will soon come out with touchscreen versions of Eee PCs? Well, it turns out that ASUS confirms a new line of Eee PCs with touchscreen and dual-core processors: the company’s division manager Samson Hu said today. The executive now says the PC builder plans to unveil touchscreen Eee PC models at the Consumer Electronics Show in January; no details are available, but the company expects them to be catalysts for sales. It’s unclear whether they would be tablet models or traditional folding designs, though Fujitsu and GigaByte both already have early models of their own. Of course, if you can not wait till January to see what’s up, then head to hacking your Eee PC to be touchscreen here: ASUS Eee PC 900 with Touchscreen ASUS Eee PC 701 with Touchscreen ASUS Eee PC with Touchscreen Another ASUS Eee PC 900 with Touchscreen a asus eee pc, asus eee pc 701, asus laptop, ASUS Netbooks, catalysts, consumer electronics show, dual core processors, fujitsu, gigabyte, Laptop News, Laptop Rumors, pc models, pimps, samson
a

Here’s another netbook from Mouse Computer. I haven’t heard of Mouse Computer before, I think it’s a Japanese company that sells laptops only in Japan. Anyways, it looks like a carbon-copy of the ASUS Eee PC. Mouse Computer just informed us of the October release of their new Netbook. The G1000 will feature 10.2-Inch LCD screen with WSVGA resolution (1024×600), an Intel Atom N270 (1.6GHz), 1GB of RAM, 160GB of SATA HDD, multi card reader (SD / Memorystick / MemoryStick Pro / Multimedia Card), Wi-Fi b/g, three USB ports, and a 1.3Mpix Webcamera. It comes with a 6 cell battery, weighs 1.4kg, measures 259x180x35mm and runs on Windows XP Home Edition SP3. We don’t have a price at the moment, but we expect the same price as currently released Netbooks. via akihabaranews a 10.2" Netbooks, asus eee pc, atom, carbon copy, card reader, cell battery, g1000, inch lcd screen, japanese company, Laptop News, Laptop Rumors, Laptop Specs, laptops, memorystick pro, mouse computer, multimedia card, netbook, Netbook Reviews, Netbook Reviews, pc mouse, pro multimedia, usb ports, windows xp, windows xp home, windows xp home edition
a

Download latest version of Flash to view video!. Click Here to View in Full Screen Mode Celio REDFLY, a pointless gadget that supposedly turns your Windows Smartphone into a netbook, is now available. The only downfall about this system is that you need a PDA phone with Windows Mobile operating system, which means your PDA will run really slow and suffer consequent blue-screen deaths, just like its brother-in-law, Microsoft Windows XP and Vista. Pretty pointless gadget that I’d not spend more than $100 on. Better yet, just get a real netbook like the ASUS Eee PC for the same amount of money. via laptopfresh a amount of money, asus eee pc, Bad Laptops, brother, celio, downfall, gadget, Laptop News, microsoft, microsoft windows xp, netbook, pda phone
a
