The Timeline from Acer may come under the netbook banner, but considering that the specs have now been released or leaked, this computer seems to fall into the laptop category now. It may have the look and feel of a mini laptop but this carries some series specs and although not mentioned we expect it to come with Windows Vista with the option to upgrade to Windows 7 for free when it is released in October.

This is going to be a sort of in between the netbook and laptop computer size with a 11.6 inch display and some great features that would not seem to be out of place on a higher spec full sized laptop. This is a great laptop is you can get past the brand name!

It is not the normal thing to worry about, but according to Netbook Italia who recently got their hands on a brand new Asus Eee PC 1101HA and while they were messing around with the machine, they found out something very interesting. It can be overclocked by up to 32%, this makes the processor work faster, and in fact, they believe that it feels like an Intel Atom N270, which is great news.

There is a lot of speculation regarding the latest Samsung offering the N510! The main point of contention is the Nvidia Ion chip; will this laptop come with the latest chip or stick with the one that the manufacturer is currently using? The word on the street is that Samsung will be launching this laptop with the Nvidia Ion chip, maybe!

It is great to see that BestBuy are not hanging around when it comes to new laptops and there is no exception with the LT series from Gateway. They have the prices starting at $399, which is okay, the main difference between this, and the Acer Aspire One is that they have replaced the Intel with the AMD Athlon processor.

Acer Aspire One 751 now available on Amazon for $418.99!
The all new or not so new Acer Aspire One 751 is a far cry from those early days, but not so different to the recent released versions. This machine has a slimmer profile, easy to use keyboard, bright hi-res display and a supposedly long battery life; these are of course the good points, which actually seem to outweigh the bad points such as single touchpad button and performance.
Although the Gateway brand is owned by Acer, the laptops that they bring out appear to have been designed very differently, that was until Gateway came up with the 11.6 inch LT3100. This follows Acer; with one exception, it uses an AMD chip, which is interesting! This computer will be available very soon.

It was not that long ago when the rumour was that the Acer Aspire One 751 with 11.6 inch display was going to be replaced. There was no date given, but it was assumed that the Timeline machines were going to take on the role. Yet more recently it has been confirmed by Acer that they are shipping the 11.6″ Aspire One 751 to the US.
