Point of View are launching its own version of a mini laptop, the Mobii ION, initially it looks like an interesting machine using the Intel Atom N230 processor, along with a HDMI port essential for HD video playback etc. It will be available in various colours, with more variations coming out over the next few months.

Fake Acer Aspire One Spotted

Clearly, this is going to be from China, as that does seem to be the place where clones pop up every now and then. This clone is known as the T26 and it is remarkably similar to the Acer Aspire One S101. When it comes to the price, it seems that the consumer in China may be tempted with the T26!

UK mobile carriers offer the Samsung NC10

Buying a laptop or netbook depending on your preference on a bundled contract with mobile broadband is not normally a good move. However, in the UK some of the top providers are offering the Samsung NC10 from just £25 ($40) per month on a two year contract. That adds up to £600 ($972) which is just about double what you would pay for the netbook.

Prices of the Samsung NC10 drop

That would be the good news, but the price drop is currently only happening in Europe. In the US, the firm have sold well over a million NC10′s but that is not to say that they will not bring prices cuts over, Samsung are waiting for the right time. NC10 in white, black, pink and blue, the white NC10 for 377.95 Euros or $530, the black for 368.95 Euros or $517, The blue NC10 can be purchased for 374.95 Euros or $527 and the pink version will cost at 382.95 Euros or $537.

Panasonic intros “Lets Note” laptop

The Lets Note laptop from Panasonic features a circular touch pad, which is probably one of the main things that you notice straight away, and then the rest falls into place. It is based on the Intel core 2 solo offering 1.4 GHz. However, one of the more important features is the claim by Panasonic that it is shock proof, to what extent is not yet known. You get the usual Wi-Fi connectivity, while the battery is said to be good for nine hours.

The computer makers have been busy at the Computex show, one surprising return to the business is ECS, they have not been around for a while, but now they are back with three different models.
