The tablet launched by Barnes and Noble the Nook Colour is more of an eReader than tablet, but there are some interesting comparisons to be made especially now as there are third party apps becoming available for the first time.
So one thing that this has allowed is the installing of custom firmware, with the help of the official software developer kit and so here is a Nook Colour running the Android 2.1.1 OS check out the YouTube Video to see just how cool it is.
The Nook Colour offers the buyer an 800MHz TI OMAP processor, 512MB of RAM, and a 1024 x 600 pixel capacitive touch screen display. It will ship with a version of Google’s Android 2.1 operating system, but as you can see, this model is clearly running the Android 2.2.1 version of the operating system.
