In this world of names, trade names, product names and so on companies are looking to protect their ideas, already we see action being taken over the term “Apps” so it is only natural that business at least try to protect their interests by filling for trademark protection.
There could be more to this than first meets the eye, as HP are planning to launch the webOS tablet and as that is not a very catchy brand name maybe it is going to be changed!
According to HP the term HP Touchpad applies to the following, “computer hardware, namely memory cards; computer hardware for telecommunications; computer monitors; mobile digital electronic devices; mobile computers; handheld computers; portable computers; tablet computers; personal digital assistants; electronic organizers; computer memories; telephones; mobile telephones; pagers; Smartphone’s, videophones.”
