Well they are, although that is what they initially said. However, already the $10 laptop has been increased to $20 now that is inflation for you. But then again the laptop will offer a great value product even at $20 if it remains at the price; it is a good idea if only they pull it off.
The laptop will be called the Sakshat it will have 2 Gb of storage, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, eight to ten inch display, this laptop is due to hit the street in just six months time. On top of this, the government will be paying a quarter of the costs of the broadband too for young children.
