I bought this laptop a few weeks ago (date of writing is 30th August 2009). So far I am extremely happy with it. I didn't realise but it comes with Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0 which is very useful. I originally planned just to use it on the train along with my t-mobile G1 phone to get 3G internet while travelling. This works great and I use it while on the 2 hour journey to london. I now use it as my day to day pc! It fits into my tank bag on my motorbike and takes up very little room.
Packard Bell also give you a cool soft protective case to carry it around in. I've also installed iTunes, Microsoft Expression Web 2 (like Dreamweaver) and they all run really well. I had a Dell Inspiron 1525 before with a faster processor but the Dot S runs faster! Probably because it comes with XP instead of Vista (which is useless!). Anyway, just wanted to let anyone who reads this know that it is a great pc – I hope I still think the same in a year, but as long as it lasts until then I'll be happy. If you don't have another PC that you can use to create CD images so you can install programs onto the Dot S, you will probably want to get an external DVD/CD player as the Dot S only has an SD memory card reader.
