Is it me or is the world just going crazy on these mini-notebooks?

Here’s Acer Aspire One Mini-notebook that should be ready to buy reaaaal soon.

The initial Aspire One 2.17-pound mini-laptop model is based on the Atom N270 CPU at 1.6GHz and the Intel 82945GMS chipset. The system has 512MB of main memory, and an 8GB solid state drive. The 8.9″ display has a resolution of 1024-by-600 pixels and LED backlight.

Other features include a built-in web camera, 95% full size keyboard, touchpad, 802.11b/g wireless module, Ethernet LAN port, three USB ports, a VGA output, 5-in-1 media card reader, and SD card slot.

The Acer Aspire One is powered by a 3-cell battery and runs a highly modified Acer Linux operating system.

The mini-laptop is expected to cost around $400 in the United States, but there is no information on its availability date.
