Forbes is reporting that HP has its laptops to thank for a better than expected quarter. And with developments like the new Touchsmart TX22 on the way, it looks like the comapny will continue the trend.
Forbes says:
Hewlett-Packard’s notebook computer sales rose 21.0% during the fourth quarter while desktop sales slipped 2.0%. The company’s software unit posted 13.0% sales growth.
So it looks like the trend to move away from desktops toward laptops is going to continue. I know there were hardware limitations in the past, but with most laptops being able to compete on specs these days, it seems pretty silly for anyone to want a desktop. Sure, there are still pockets where a desktop is nice to have. But give me a laptop anyday.

From my point of view – HP’s laptops are not too good.
