The computer maker Dell is offering new customers who buy a Dell Studio 15, Studio 17 or Studio XPS 16, the opportunity to add the Intel wireless module for $60. This piece of kit enables the computer to access Wi-Fi and WiMax networks in Atlanta, Baltimore and Portland, Oregon.

Unfortunately, unless the user lives in any one of these cities then there is little chance of being able to access the network and get onto the internet while sitting outside drinking a nice cup of coffee. Although WiMax operator Clearwire is looking to expand their network throughout the US but there is no fixed timeframe yet.
