A new laptop that targets business users in the US has been launched by Acer, it is the TravelMate 5542 15.6 inch laptop that is unusually based on the Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) platform, it would be normal practice to see the Intel based processor in a laptop at this level. In this case, Acer is using the AMD Athlon II P340 central processor with a clock speed of 2.2 GHz.
The laptop is not exclusively for business users of course and is could be just as useful for home users too, as the buyer gets a choice of 250 GB or a 350 GB hard drive and up to 4 GB of RAM.
These are the specs and features for the all new 15.6 inch Acer TravelMate 5542 laptop;
15.6-inch HD (1366 x 768) LED backlit display, a 2.2 GHz AMD Athlon II Dual-Core P340 processor and ATI Mobility Radeon 4250 graphic. Also the notebook will feature up to 4GB of RAM, a 250GB or 320GB hard drive, a DVD writer, a 2-in-1 SD card reader and a 1.3 megapixel Crystal Eye webcam.
