Buying a laptop or netbook depending on your preference on a bundled contract with mobile broadband is not normally a good move. However, in the UK some of the top providers are offering the Samsung NC10 from just £25 ($40) per month on a two year contract. That adds up to £600 ($972) which is just about double what you would pay for the netbook.
