cNet reported Dell announced the Inspiron Mini 9 will rival HP’s Mini 1000 by adding 3G network support. Dell’s Mini 9 are now shipping with the built-in wireless network made famous by the iPhone.

Mac rumors are all over the place, with a number of sources, including ComputerWorld, reporting that Apple might be releasing a netbook in 2009. So far, analysts are saying Mac will never make a low-cost netbook. But there might be some sort of “entry-level notebook” on the way.

cNet is also wondering if Blu-Ray drives are worth the time and money in laptops with smaller displays. Sure, a nice high-def player on a 17-inch display is great. But on an 11-inch display? What’s the point
