Netbook sales to reach 59 million by 2013

According to study carried out by the independent research firm Semico, shipments of so called netbooks are set to climb to a massive fifty nine million units by 2013. In 2008 the market total was just twelve and half million.

This increase represents a five fold increase in sales and it has been estimated to be worth around twenty two per cent of the total computer market. There is one issue that of the processor, the term netbook is normally associated with Intel, but mini laptop makers are looking at alternative chips and therefore perhaps we may be looking at smartbooks now.
