Monday Laptop News Roundup

In a recent news roundup from The Week, the magazine cited the New York Times, saying that President-Elect Barack Obama would be the first president in U.S. history to have a laptop n his Oval Office desk. And, as a result, he will also be the first commander and chief with access to that wacky series of tubes, the Internet. Hopefully Roomba Cat won’t distract him too much.

The folks over at ZDNet are putting together their top holiday gift guides, and it’s no suprise that the HP Mini 1000 is their top choice for a netbook gift. It looks like it’s going to be a very netbook Christmas for a lot of kids out there.

The Inquirer is reporting that Best Buy will be slashing Apple prices by $100-$150 to compete this Christmas. As a result, there are rumors that the Apple Store might follow suit, but I doubt it
