Anyone contemplating buy a new laptop may wish to consider this, if they buy it before the 30th June they will have to pay for their upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 should they wish. However, if you buy it one day later then the upgrade is going be a lot easier.
Microsoft will be releasing the new operating system later on in the year, when exactly is anyone’s guess, but Vista users whose machine was bought after the 1st July will be eligible for a direct upgrade to Windows 7.
