There is a company known as iGo who are about to make a big splash at the forthcoming CES 2009 with a eco friendly charger which is guaranteed to cut back on the power used by the laptops. It is well known that laptop batteries do tend to suck in as much as they can.

However, with the iGo Laptop Charger, it uses an auto shut off which prevents this waste of energy. The company say that they can save up to eighty per cent in power use when the machine is left on standby, these do work out at considerable savings.
