DIY Dell Mini 9 Tablet!

Check out this incredible Dell Mini 9 that someone hacked into a mini tablet!  Brilliant!  If you know a little bit about disassembling laptops and hardware, this might be a doable project for you.

The base model is a Dell Vostro A90 (bluetooth, .3mp webcam, 1GB RAM, upgraded 16GB SSD). The touchscreen is the Hoda Technology solderless touchscreen kit.

I started this project back in June, and it was 80% complete then. I took a break for a few months then finally started filling in the gaps in the frame with plastic epoxy. It took me another few weeks to come up with a way to mount the power switch and the covers for where the hinges were.

It is fully complete and functional now, though I will probably go ahead and paint/primer the body filler and paint the powerswitch silver from its current green color. I also am looking into adding an accelerometer to automatically rotate the screen, similar to an iphone.
