Viewsonic introduce new laptops

Viewsonic are probably better known for their monitors, but it seems that there are so many gaps in the computer market these days that they have decided to bring their own products out. There are two mini laptops of interest, the VNB 100 and VNB 101 and they are quite interesting.

 

Features of the VNB 100 and VNB 101

10.2 inch & 102 x 600 pixel displays

2 GB of RAM

160 GB hard drives

802.11b/g Wi-Fi

Bluetooth 2.0

VNB 100 has a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU

VNB 101 has a slightly faster 1.66GHz Int

AT&T expand netbook range

The mobile broadband provider AT&T has added more mini laptops to its subsidised range, as from now new customers will be able to pick up an Acer Aspire One, Dell Inspiron Mini 10, and Lenovo IdeaPad S10.

 

All three machines offer similar specs, 10 inch display, 1 Gb, 160 Gb hard drive, Windows XP and multi touch trackpad. The cost for the machines will $200 when taken on a two year contract at a cost of $40 per month

The Dell Mini 10v going for $299

Finally the Dell Mini 10v has gone on sale, with a product page finally up and running on the Dell website, but despite all of the hype and talk about it. The best thing about this news is the price of the computer a Dell with all the features that you would expect for less than $300, it really doesn’t get any better than that or does it.

This is a new model from Dell it is a Latitude 2100 and has been marketed for the schools sector. There have been rumours of this machine for a few months now and finally it has come out this Dell is similar to most of their machines with the exception of weight and thickness, these look as if they are built for a tough world, with rubberized cover and an anti microbial keyboard, sounds like a school machine to me!

The two Japanese computer manufacturers Toshiba and Fujitsu have both brought to the market their versions of mini laptops the NB200 and NB100 from Toshiba and the M2010 from Fujitsu. It is a surprise that they have left it so long considering that the market is overloaded with mini laptops from almost all computer makers. The popularity of mobile broadband and Wi-Fi has increased the amount of users who like to be connected while they are out of the home or office.

Review of the redesigned Lenovo IdeaPad S10-2

There has been a lot of talk over the recent changes to the IdeaPad S10-2; the casing has a more rounded feel to it, while there are some subtle changes to the keyboard, ports and LED lights. Is Palm bringing the Foleo Back?

For anyone that can remember, Palm brought out the Foleo a long time before the mini laptop turned up on the scene; these hand held clamshell devices offered the user a full QWERTY keyboard.
