ASUS notebooks with Montevina and Puma Leaked!

Looks like ASUS w/ Intel’s Montevina and AMD Puma processors have been leaked:

Based on the existing M51 and M70 lines, the M51VR will feature a 2.26GHz Penryn P8400 with 3MB of L2 cache on Montevina’s 1.06GHz bus, while the M51VA and M70VM (pictured) will get 2.53GHz T9400s with 6MB of cache. ASUS should also be showing off the Puma-based F5Z and X50Z laptops with 1.9GHz AMD Athlon64 X2 QL-60 chips, 667MHz buses, ATI Mobility Radeon HD3200 graphics and 15.4-inch screens at Computex, so it’ll be interesting to see how these bad bo

MSI Wind Laptop coming soon with SuSE Linux or Windows XP

MSI Wind Laptop coming soon...

MSI is working on their new Wind laptop, which is supposed to compete with the Asus Eec PCs.

The Wind will feature a 10-inch display with 1024×600 resolution, 1.3M web cam, 80GB harddrive, and of course a card reader/wifi.

According to recent rumors, the MSI Wind will also come equipped either in Windows XP or SuSE Linux.

Asus working on Touchscreen Eee PC, possibly Multi-touch

With the popularity of Asus Eec PC rising, Asus has just hinted that they might possibly looking at a touchscreen model of Asus Eec PC laptops.

Editors at Laptop Pimp predict that these new touchscreen laptops could possible come with multi-touch technology.

Asus Australia national retail manager, Emmanuele Silanesu, said the company’s Eee PC division was “obviously looking at other form factors rather than just a clamshell”.

Asus Eee Linux Box!

Rumor say that ASUS is building an ASUS Eee Linux Box.  Basically, it looks almost like a Wii or something but don’t expect any gaming consoles, it’s still just a computer that looks stylish.

    As per our previous speculation, an official launch of the Eee Box will indeed take place on June 3rd at Computex in Taiwan. Hardly surprising given the show is in Taiwan, the home of Asus and many a computing manufacturer. Specs wise, our source told us the machines would be launching with 2GB RAM as standard, along with a 160GB hard drive

ASUS UK Eec PC has longer battery life and warranty!

It seems like UK consumers will be getting a better deal with the ASUS Eec PCs.  Darn it, why???

An Asus UK spokeswoman said: “Asus offers different solutions in different markets. In EU countries, we use 4400mAh [with the] Eee 900. However, we give a two-year warranty within the country you bought the Eee 900.”

ASUS announced their Atom-based notebook Eec PC 901 will be coming soon.  Looks pretty good at $650 USD.

SEOUL, Korea (AVING) — <Visual News> ASUS announced that it will unveil its Atom-based netbook ‘EeePC 901′ at the upcoming Computex 2008 held in Taiwan, which newly supports Bluetooth connectivity.
