HP launches the $749 Mini 5102!

Many of us believed that the new HP netbook was going to be reasonably priced, by that we assume that it would cost around $400, but it seems that something has gone terribly wrong here somewhere because all of a sudden the new mini has a price tag of $749, although there is a lower model with a $599 price tag.

The only thing that seems the separate the models is the operating system; the basic model comes with Windows 7 Starter, while the rest of the range came with Windows 7 Professional installed.

The computer maker HP are getting ready to launch the Pavilion dm1, it is a CULV based machine so that means its energy efficient, which is what a lot of computer users want these days.

Users will be delighted to see that it comes with a 11.6 inch display putting it firmly into the netbook ballpark.

Want to run OS X on a HP?

Believe it or not, there are people out there that want the best of both worlds, I should know because that sounds like me!

However, I am not sure about buying a brand new netbook only to hackintosh it to death by coaxing it to run the OS X. But sure, there are plenty of people that would jump at the chance. Nevertheless, what you get is the HP mini 311 with an Intel Atom Processor running OS X!

Szmovi launch HP mini lookalike

With the netbook market virtually flooded with various models from all of the popular computer makers, it should come as no surprise to fins that the odd copy appears every now and then. This is what would have appeared to have happen over at the Chinese based Szmovi design department.

 

This is the Szmovi P610 and if you compare it to the HP Mini 1000, then you may begin to see some serious similarities between to the two designs.
