HP has launched the Compaq Airlife 100 it comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon ARM processor and an integrated 3G modem, nothing special about that then! However, after some clever detective work, the people over at Wireless goodness discovered that the HP has filed some interesting docs with the FCC for the Compaq Airlife 100. It seems that the docs mention GSM 850 & 900, as well as WCDMA bands 2 and 5, which just happens to be the bands that are used by AT&T for mobile broadband. The only thing that seems the separate the models is the operating system; the basic model comes with Windows 7 Starter, while the rest of the range came with Windows 7 Professional installed.
Netbooks are excellent for business as they are small and can easily connect to the internet, but they often lack battery life and a decent sized hard drive. Specs – 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 processor or a 1.83GHz Intel Atom N470 processor, a 10.1-inch touch screen display with multitouch, a 1GB of RAM, an Intel GMA 3150 graphics chip, a 160GB hard drive with the choice of a 250GB or 320GB hard drive, an optional GPS, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Windows 7 Starter Edition, 6 cell battery providing ten hours of power, available in red, black and blue, prices start at around $399 Source [Tech Fresh] a business netbook, hp mini, HP Netbooks
a

These are an extension to the already huge range of smaller computers being released by HP, they offer the consumer a deal of choice with specs and of course price as this also matters to the consumer these days. You have the HP Mini 2101 and the 210, they have the popular rubberised covering on the lid which is easy grip etc and a chicklet style keyboard. Prices appear to start at around $329 which is a nice price. Although you can clearly see that rising up with additions! Source [Engadget] a hp mini, HP Netbooks, Netbook News, new netbooks
a

This could only happen in Japan where a store gets their hands on a stock of HP mini 110 netbooks an instead of sticking them on the shelves they dress them up and give them names. Fortunately there are only three different designs that are limited to one hundred units and sale at the Dress Up Store. The three designs are Bonica, Blondy and Smork, these are your average HP mini packaged in a highly unusual manner and you know what, I think they look pretty cool actually! It is all down to the designer Vivienne Tam who has once more come up with a terrific design for the HP Mini. This time the design is more subtle, whereas the previous one was shades of red and in bold patterns, whereas with this design the shades are lower in tone and the design is that of a butterfly.
Sometimes you cannot go on the numeric values that manufacturers put onto the models, like the Mini 110 from HP; this is supposed to be replacing the HP Mini 1000! Therefore, there are some light changes in size and looks, but if there is so little to choose from what exactly are the main difference between the two models? The differences between two models: Thicker and heavier. No more glare. It’s got a matte screen now. No awfully slow or small storage (1.8″ PATA) this time. There is a standard 2.5″ SATA drive in there with a 160GB HDD. Now with VGA port. No need for a dongle. No Edge-to-edge display (glass that covers both the screen and bezel) Comes in three colors (white, black and pink) Speaker no longer in the hinge. Same position, but further below at the bottom. Chassis feels a little cheaper than on the Mini 1000 (cheaper material). Three USB ports instead of two on the HP Mini 1000. Includes a VGA port unlike the HP Mini 1000. Touchpad lock button is no longer there. There is some new software, which allows you to sync stuff to other computers. Comes with a 3/6-cell Lithium-Ion battery … Continue reading →
a

A computer maker has finally understood that women are computer buyers too and as such have built in a women’s section with their website. Dell have always been there at the cutting edge but by launching Della they have opened up a whole new section of the market place that has been until now pushed to the side. Maybe computer makers have not been discriminating against women; in fact, by launching Della they may have set precedence where they will need to cater for other groups such as children, older people and so on the list could be endless.
