The Archos 9 ready for pre-order


The Archos 9 tablet PC has been in the pipeline for some time and now it is available for pre-order on the Archos Tablet Page.

The price is little less than expected but at $550, that is still a lot of cash for device such as this, but I suppose it has to be down to the consumer.

Specs – touch-sensitive 9-inch resistive screen, virtual keyboard, optical track point and left/right mouse buttons, 1.7cm thick, weighs 800 grams, support for 1080p files, with a 60GB hard dri

Tablets are the new Netbooks


Did we a future for netbooks or will they morph into something else? According to Archos, the 9” PC Tablet is the future of netbooks and so you have to wonder why they would come out with such as statement.

These tablets especially the Archos 9” so if this is the future of netbooks and as we know these are designed for mobility, so where’s the 3G?

The Disney themed Asus heads for UK


The much awaited arrival of the Asus NetPal netbook is heading over to the UK now, aimed at kids this 8.9 inch netbook has all of the usual Asus netbook features as well as some special effects straight from the Disney studio, these include Hannah Montana, Wall-E and Cars themes.

The Archos 10 on sale next month


The Archos 10 was launched initially launched back in June, but since then it sort of disappeared off the face of the earth. However, it has suddenly made a return and will be going on sale in the stores next month (October). This is bold move for Archos who have made their name producing portable media players; this netbook is an interesting departure from their core business.

No battery option for Archos


Most netbooks are offering a battery option where the consumer can opt to buy a six cell battery instead of the standard three cell battery. However, many of these more powerful batteries are bulky and tend to stick out, which spoils the look of the computer. Archos on the other hand have chosen not to offer this option, as this makes the computer lighter and more streamlined, but will consumers approve with this idea.

The Archos 10 for sale at $330

Currently the Archos 10 mini laptop is up for sale at just under $330 from retailer CompUSA, this is a neat little computer that offers most of what you would expect from a mini laptop, but at a decent price and some pretty good specs.
