When we see laptops and netbooks they usually come with a designation made up of numbers and letters, but Acer have come up with something a little bit different with the launch of the Aspire One Happy, yes Acer have managed to call their latest netbook “Happy” and strangely enough it is quite amusing.
Basically, this is a standard Acer Aspire One D255 that has been given a colour makeover with the palm rest and lid coming in a pastel green colour.
It was not that long ago when Acer launched the Aspire One D255, it comes in diamond black, sandstone brown, ruby red or aquamarine and offers the consumer a 250 GB hard drive, 1 GB of RAM and naturally a 10.1 inch display.

It’s about time that Acer brought out a new netbook and it seems that we may not have too long to wait as there have been some bug reports filed on Linux and Google Chrome that indicate there is a new machine in works.
From the data filed some basic specs have been determined from a machine that has not been previously heard of, although there is a rumour that the reports are also related to an Acer Laptop that failed to make it to market.

The Acer Aspire One has recently appeared on the Amazon pages with a price tag of around $429.99, although it does say that currently the netbook is out of stock, which is some going considering how long it has been on sale for.

One of the main things about netbooks at the moment is battery life; after all it is no good having a portable computer that runs out of power just when you need it. Luckily Acer has this covered with a new 6 cell battery pack that is supposed to be good for around eight hours.
It has Windows 7 Starter which may not be to everyone’s taste, but this is a netbook and anything too hungry is going to use up power and may even slow the computer down, which is something that is not needed.
