There is no mistaking who and where this netbook is destined for, it is a smart idea but when it comes to education services at the end of the day cost is going to be a major factor in the take up of any computer. The Aspire One E100 Education offers a 10.1 inch display 1024 x 600 pixel resolution, powered by an unknown Intel Atom processor, with a 250 GB hard drive, 1 GB of RAM and of course, Wi-Fi b/g/n. Also included in Bluetooth 2.1, a multi-format memory card reader, to make it ultra portable Acer have made it dual bootable with Windows 7 and Android operating systems and there are some free education apps on offer too, including the preloaded Acer Classroom Manager app. The netbook will weigh about a pound, is around 24 mm thick and according to Acer the battery is good enough eight hours of runtime. No word on pricing at the moment Source [Slashgear] a Acer Aspire Netbooks, Aspire One E100 Education, school netbook
a

For a moment the competition were feeling a bit of relief when report were going around that Acer were going to be phasing out all of their netbooks in favour of tablets. However, the company have issued a statement that completely denies that they are thinking about this action. In fact it seems that Acer will not be even be launching any new tablets with the latest Sandy Bridge platform from Intel, so it seems that for now at least netbooks will definitely be on the Acer Menu! “Acer recognises that the computer market is changing: As PCs are no longer used to only create content but are more and more becoming consumption tools, new devices and new form factors are appearing,” the manufacturer said in a statement. “This means the range of devices available to users is getting wider and tablets are just another piece of the mosaic. Therefore they will find their space next to netbooks and notebooks, without taking over.” Source [Eee PC] a acer, Acer Aspire Netbooks, netbooks, New Netbooks, Tablets
a

Now it seems that the Acer are planning to feature a dual booting system across all of the company’s netbook range, this means that the consumer will soon be able to choose either to go with Windows 7 or switch to the Google Android operating system.
One of the main things about netbooks at the moment is battery life; after all it is no good having a portable computer that runs out of power just when you need it. Luckily Acer has this covered with a new 6 cell battery pack that is supposed to be good for around eight hours. It has Windows 7 Starter which may not be to everyone’s taste, but this is a netbook and anything too hungry is going to use up power and may even slow the computer down, which is something that is not needed. Features & Specs: •10.1-inch CrystalBrite LED backlit display (1024 x 600 resolution) •1.6 GHz Intel Atom N270 processor combines performance and efficiency to explore the Internet and stay connected while mobile •Up to 8 hour’s battery life with the included 6-cell battery •Multi-circular motion gesture for scrolling, pinch-zoom and a flip-side action touchpad •250 GB hard drive (5400 rpm) •1 GB DDR2 RAM (667 MHz, 2 GB maximum capacity) •Integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 Video Processor •Crystal Eye webcam supporting Acer PrimaLite technology, there is a premium sensor, firmware and lenses to think about delivering video performance under low light conditions.
This Android powered laptop from Acer has been kicking around for a long while and still we have to wait to hear what is really going to be happening inside this netbook, sure, it has Android, but it means nothing really, because this is going to be a duel boot machine. So of course, there will be those fans of Android that will celebrate the fact that they have an Acer powered by Android, but it’s an open source powered netbook that has no price reduction, ordinarily if you chose open source then it is going to be cheaper. However, this is cunningly provided with Windows XP and so you have to pay around $350! Source [Gizmodo] a Acer Aspire Netbooks, acer launch android netbook, android power
a
